“Tunnel” Korean Movie Synopsis
The plot of the film revolves around Lee Jung-Soo, who is a car dealer, and the disaster that he faces, which he never imagined. He was having a whole gala time and getting all preps done for his daughter’s birthday but seems like he was destined for something normal that day.
He was coming back home for the birthday party, and on his way home, he got to cross a tunnel called the Hado Tunnel, but never in his dream would he have thought of the Tunnel turning into a life-changing experience. That Tunnel was all among the mountains, and eventually, it collapsed.
Now, Jung-Soo is trapped, he becomes unconscious throughout the process, but as soon as he wakes up, he is all stuck and stranded in his car, but loads of debris surround him and the vehicle. In no possible way, it seemed like how one would escape from this situation. It was a really bad nightmare.
But not everything was against him, though he had very little space around him. He still got his phone but a sufficient amount of battery in it with two water bottles and his little girl’s birthday cake.
Tunnel Ending
After regaining consciousness, Jung-soo calls his wife, Se-hyun, and the emergency helpline number 911, seeking help. Luckily an emergency team was all set up for him, and it was at this point he got to hope for his survival. The disaster became a huge issue, and the government was all firm for the rescue.
Though each and every second seemed like the longest time for him. Kim Dae-Kyung, the task force leader, was the in-charge of this whole case, and he was just on with his job. He kept on advising Jung-soo over the phone and asked him to consume the least amount of water and use the phone just once a day.
It was not at all easy for Jung-soo, but he did let his spirits die. He was positive to a great extent. There were media all around, and the minister, Kim Hae-sook, was on with her blaming the politicians. All they care about is their life and image. However, the constriction of a subsequent tunnel was still on.

No Hopes For The Rescue
But somehow, the rescue kept on delaying day by day, and it was all getting messy. Things seemed to be going out of hand, but along with Jung-soo, Dae-Kyung was not ready to lose hope despite the least support he had. He was not ready to give up that easily, but the blunders of the rescue did not stop either.
Further, Jung-soo was running out of everything, he had no water or food, and now his phone battery also died. Thus, he was not able to contact the people outside. Everyone was demotivated, there seemed no chance of a successful rescue, and he literally made a record of surviving in that worst condition.
A Successful Rescue
However, after a series of unsuccessful moves, he was finally rescued from the Tunnel. All thanks to Kim Dae-Kyung, who was very adamant that he would not give up. He comes out of the Tunnel and sees so many people cheering for him alongside his family.
