There are a lot of mysteries in The Umbrella Academy season 4, and one concerning Five (Aidan Gallagher) in particular shouldn’t be disregarded. The fourth season of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy is drawing to a close after three thrilling seasons chock-full of surprises and surprising revelations.
In Season 3, the time-travelling Hargreeves met the Sparrow Academy and encountered a fresh apocalypse—this time, they were powerless to save the end of the world. The fact that Reginald almost killed his surviving children by tricking them into resetting the timeline was even more disturbing.
The universe Reginald created came to pass even though Allison killed him at the last second by pulling the lever to save her siblings and change the course of events.
After Umbrella Academy season 3, Sparrow Ben, Lila, and the winning team arrived in a new universe where Reginald was the most powerful man and they had lost their abilities.
The Umbrella Academy season 4 will have to address several problems raised by the timeline reset, chief among them being the great enigma surrounding Five and the reason he still appears to be a teenager.
The Umbrella Academy Season 4 Needs To Address Number Five’s Appearance
Because of their special abilities, all of the Umbrella Academy’s members had distinct upbringings, some of which were more traumatic than others. Five, who possesses the ability to teleport, also tried time travel when he was thirteen and became imprisoned in a post-apocalyptic future.
Before being saved by The Handler and employed by the Temps Commission, Five lived for decades all by himself and did his best to survive.
Five discovered a way to travel back in time while working as a hitman for The Commission. Although he was successful, he nevertheless retained the features of a teenager, even though his siblings had reached adulthood by then. Although Five appears to be the youngest member of the squad, in actuality he is the eldest.
However, since Reginald’s timeline reset, there have been concerns raised regarding Five’s looks. Five’s arm was restored, Diego’s hand was cured, and Luther’s body was returned. It would have made logical that Five’s appearance changed when the chronology reset.
The Umbrella Academy season 4 premiere and the season 3 conclusion both revealed that Five still had a teenage appearance, therefore the fourth and final season will need to explain why the reset didn’t affect him.
Maintaining Five’s youth was always going to be difficult because the actor ages naturally, and even though season 4 is meant to take up immediately after season 3, Gallagher now has a noticeable age difference. The physical attributes of Five may cause a time jump in The Umbrella Academy season 4.
Gallagher’s appearance won’t suit the schedule, but as was already mentioned, the final season is anticipated to begin either immediately after or shortly after the conclusion of season 3.
Season 4 may take the same route as Season 2 and jump in time to make Five’s older appearance plausible, but it will still need to explain why his appearance did not cause the timeline to “reset.”
The first episode of The Umbrella Academy season 4 might include the Hargreeves trying to lead normal lives in an alternate reality, much like season 2 did. a time jump makes sense because the Hargreeves were last seen splitting up after finding they no longer had powers.
In The Umbrella Academy season 4, the Hargreeves may not stay apart for long because they still have a few issues to resolve as a group. It remains to be seen how they will reclaim their abilities and vanquish their father, who proved to be the true adversary.
