Whether George Sr.’s death will occur in the last episodes of Young Sheldon season 7 is revealed in a new narrative update.
All of Sheldon’s relatives appeared physically in The Big Bang Theory, except his father, who had passed away long before the sitcom’s events took place.
Certain aspects of the Young Sheldon character’s death were made public, but other parts of the catastrophe have stayed hidden. But before it’s over, they want to know if the sitcom will touch on the subject.
Executive producer Steve Holland revealed that Young Sheldon season 7 will depict George’s passing in an interview with TVLine. He doesn’t go into detail about how they intend to handle the tragedy, but everything will adhere to the canon of The Big Bang Theory.
See his remarks below: Things will be addressed; I don’t want to predict what you will or won’t see.
While we are not obligated to laugh at every joke that has ever been said on The Big Bang Theory, we do feel that Sheldon’s life is shaped by the greater canon and events. We wish to pay tribute to them.
Without a doubt, not. That is a common occurrence in Sheldon’s life. This character [from Big Bang] is the same. Since the Big Bang occurred in the same universe as ours, worldbuilding of that kind is crucial. [Adult Sheldon stated] that significant events occurred throughout his life.
Why Young Sheldon Could Not Escape George’s Death?
There are innumerable plot inconsistencies of various degrees as a result of Young Sheldon’s years-long cherry-picking of plots that were previously disclosed in The Big Bang Theory.
George’s infidelity scandal, which included one of the sitcom’s most shocking revelations about Sheldon witnessing his father having an affair, was infamously overlooked in the prequel. Season 6 was intended to be when the incident occurred, but it didn’t.
Regretfully, the spinoff cannot ignore George’s passing the way it did his affair. With Mandy and Georgie’s impending spinoff, the CBS comedy will essentially carry on, meaning that the Coopers’ destiny will continue to unfold on screen.
Just before George’s death, the prequel show might have terminated, even without the revelation of the spinoff. In this manner, the entire family may have been involved in a happy conclusion. That is no longer possible, though, as the tragedy foreshadows Georgie’s, Missy’s, and even Sheldon’s futures.
Young Sheldon is unable to avoid George’s death without violating canon because of it. When George’s death ends, is the question at this point.
The timing of CBS’s tragedy execution is crucial because it can have a big impact on the rest of the year if it is done too soon or too late.
The fact that Young Sheldon season 7 will only consist of 14 episodes, which implies George will have far less time to spend with his family before he dies, does not help either.
