Recap
“I was on ‘The Voice’ previously!” In episode 7, the battles premiered. On Team Reba Tae Lewis defeated L. Rodgers, but Reba awarded L. her Playoff Pass, thus both remain. After that, Asher HaVon defeated Alyssa Crosby, but Chance convinced Alyssa to join his squad by using his stole.
Gabriel Goes was vanquished and eliminated by Kamalei Kawa of Team Chance. On Team Dan + Shay Karen Waldrup defeated and eliminated Ryan Argast. Bryan Olesen was defeated by Nathan Chester on Team Legend, but both men are still alive because John handed Bryan his Playoff Pass.
OK3 was vanquished and eliminated by Zoe Levert. Let’s carry on the fights! Dan + Shay kicked off the evening by mentoring brothers Jeremy, Justin, and Frank Garcia as they rehearsed the song “A Million Reasons.”
Following their performance, John expressed his admiration for Justin and Jeremy’s synchronization as well as Frank’s vibrato. Reba expressed her surprise at finding “so much talent on stage under the age of 20.” She also believed that as singers, the brothers complimented one another nicely.
Reba immediately launched into her own battle, which included a brand-new Zeya Raye and William Alexander duet of “Just Give Me a Reason.” Reba emphasized that they needed to “hone in on the audience” during the rehearsal phase since emotion is what makes a performance truly great.
She thought it was “much better” after they started singing together. Chance complimented Zeya while also stating that he would have taken William if he had been able to. Because of his advanced age, Shay believed William could “open up more vocally,” but Dan believed Zeya was more suited for the song.
Zeya offered the “flawless” performance, but John thought William was “trying to find [his] way around the melody” and enjoyed his selections. Reba found Zeya to be the most “maturity and warmth” in her voice, even though she thought they were both “incredible.”
