“The Turkish Detective” on Paramount+ is a brand-new detective series inspired by the same-titled CWA Silver Dagger Award novels by Barbara Nadel. The first season of the show started filming in April 2022, and will now land on the Paramount streaming platform in December 2023.
This show will have an eight-episode first season and will be based on Nadel’s 24 novels, which follow Detective Ayse Farsakoglu, Inspector Cetin Ikmen, and partner Mehmet Suleyman as they investigate crimes in the “dazzling, vibrant, and chaotic world” present-day Turkey.
Our protagonists go through a range of emotions, from the greatest heights to the lowest lows, with the crimes in question having a profound connection to the ” wealthy and varied cultural heritage of Istanbul.”
Produced by Miramax and renowned Turkish production house Ay Yapim in collaboration with VIS, the series is set in contemporary Istanbul and stars Ethan Kai, Haluk Biligner (Baba), and Yasemin Kay Allen.
