From leading roles in classic comedies to serious ones in drama, actor Alec Baldwin has done it all. The sixty-five-year-old actor is famously known for his roles in The Cooler, Knots Landing, The Aviator, and The Departed, and for being a part of the Mission Impossible franchise as well among many other ventures.
You might remember him well from his role in NBC comedy titled 30 Rock where he played the role of Jack Donaghy, a role that managed to get him two Primetime Emmy Awards and three Golden Globes. The New York-born actor has been actively working in the industry since 1980 gradually climbing his way up into the people’s hearts and has also branched out into producing his work.
The talented actor has also been spotted at Broadway shows, with his first one being in 1986 in a production called Loot, followed by other shows including the likes of Twentieth Century, Orphans, and A Streetcar Named Desire, his role in which bagged a nomination as the Best Actor in a Play at the Tony Awards.
While the actor has an extensive career to his name with several successful deals, the actor is not unfamiliar with hardships. Throughout his career, he has been a part of several controversies as well, with many landing him serious legal troubles.
We are sure you remember his infamous plane incident where he had to be removed from the plane because he refused to ‘put away’ his electronic devices or that one incident where accidentally ended up killing Halyna Hutchins and severely injuring director Joel Souza.
No matter what you think of the actor or the way he has managed his public image, one has to acknowledge that he has managed to stay relevant for long enough in the industry. The actor made headlines once again with a recent video that was put out on social media and we are here to tell you all you need to know about.
Alec Baldwin’s recent real-estate video
The actor wants to sell his home and he also does not. Through the video, we meet a 10,000 square foot estate with a total of seven bedrooms that sits on 335 Town Lane, Amagansett, New York. He has been known to have been trying to sell the house off for a little over a year and the deal has still not been cracked.
The video that has been put out has Baldwin taking about the home where he has spent his younger days lazing near the beach, he strolls around looking nostalgia and eventually stands in front of the estate, softly talking about how happy he always is whenever he visited the place.
While we never get to see the inside of the house or the around it except for the barren field where Alec Baldwin walks and reminicises about the good old days, we realise that the man really does not want to get rid of the house.
It does not take a genius to realise that he is very much attached to the place along with its attached swimming pool and movie theatre built into it. The video seems like a desperate attempt at finally selling the house. Fans would know that Baldwin first bought the place at a price of $1.7 million almost thirty years ago.
He first lived their with his then-wife, Kim Basinger followed by his second wife, Hilaria and his seven children. When he first listed the house in 2022, it was priced at $29 million. Since the house was being taken on and off the market with the most recent price cut being at $22.5 million, and with the recent video out, the price has dropped to a whopping $19 million.
The video, running for no longer than two minutes, has him talking about all that he loves about the house, the history of the estate, his relation with the place, the changes he made to the site after he moved in with his wife, Hilaria Baldwin.
He talks about how beautiful and peaceful the place is, especially during winters, and how there are no big pieces of land available to buy anymore. All of this comes as his attempt to pitch the house to potential buyers and to add an emotional touch to the ordeal.
The place, originally extremely vintage, currently holds space for nine bathrooms, and balconies that boast of view of five acres of agricultural reserve land. The house is currently listed with Saunders & Associates, who are also behind this marketing strategy.
The actor himself is currently put up in a farmhouse in Vermont and is stuck in the middle of legal matters and court procedures that require his immediate attention. Not just this but with a ruined image and lack of film offers and opportunities in the cruel Hollywood industry, the actor is likely to be suffering and in need of strong financial back up, hence the emotional attempt at selling his house.
