Favorite characters from The Walking Dead, Rick and Michonne, are at last returning with a full new episode centered around them! Yes, they will be directing The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, a spin-off, years after they left the venerable zombie series.
This miniseries explores Rick’s activities following his capture by the CRM over the course of several years. Thankfully, he is still alive and well, toiling away for the CRM. However, Major General Beale, their boss, is keeping a watchful eye on our sheriff.
While Michonne searches far and wide for Rick, using his abandoned bag as the only hint, she travels with a group of survivors who offer her hope because she never seems to be in his grasp.
Preview
As seen in the preview teaser, Michonne will begin as a volunteer in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live episode 3, “Bye.”
Michonne will be assigned tasks such as eliminating pests. Rick suggested that she maintain a low profile in order to conceal the fact that she is an A, a classification reserved for individuals possessing leadership characteristics; Bs are considered non-leaders.
As someone who considers the interests of the CRM, the preview also reveals that Pearl is beginning to have doubts about Michonne. If she doesn’t fit in, Michonne may find herself in hot water. Episode 3 of The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will also reveal Rick’s plans for his big getaway with his wife.
Recap
Michonne met Elle, the commander of the Survivor Caravan, at the beginning of the second episode, and she asked for a horse to be sent her way. Michonne was asked to stay by Elle, but she declined. Nat burst into the scene, furious that Elle had abandoned her sister Aiden because Elle had insisted on not stopping for anyone.
When Nat realized that Bailey and Aiden were safe, he felt a sense of relief. Nat promised to supply Michonne with supplies and consented to give her the horse of her choice. Nat didn’t stop Michonne from heading to Bridger’s shipyard, even though he thought it was a suicide mission, and instead asked her to stay the night.
Michonne, though on her path, ran into a massive swarm, but amazingly, Nat and others rescued her, breaking away from Survivor’s Caravan to make their own decisions. They all agreed to assist Michonne in getting back together with Rick. Given that Bailey was having a child, Nat asked Aiden to travel to Alexandria with her, but she declined.
