For some context, The Novel’s Extra (Remake) follows the life of Kim Ha-Jin who is the author of the web novel The Otherworldly Hero. He went on hiatus halfway through the story and never bothered it pick it back up. One day he received a request from an artist asking him permission to turn the web novel into a webtoon. Ha-Jin had no objections to the idea so he gave his permission. Little did he know what was about to happen.

The next thing he knew he was inside his novel as an extra character with a question mark for a face. He got to witness the world and characters he created firsthand. Later that day he received his laptop which synced his character to Kim Chun-Dong and took over. He was given the skill “Story Intervention” which he can use to change the story at the expense of Story Points. He gains story points by interacting with the main story.

Ha-Jin tells him that the monster is the sword and not its user. The sword is just controlling what seems to be a corpse. He tells Su-Ho to focus his attacks on the sword rather than the user. Ha-Jin would cover him from the back while he faced the monster in close combat. The monster proved to be a more formidable foe than expected. The monster told Su-Ho that he was strong and that he would gladly put his body to good use.
