Calvin is getting used to growing older and the new phases of parenting in The Neighborhood Season 6 Episode 4 (“Welcome to Grandfatherhood”), while Malcolm is considering his options for a future in business. When Lamar arrives to spend more time with Grover, Gemma and Dave are forced to relinquish some control.
This is what you overlooked! The Neighborhood’s most recent episode features Calvin, Dave, Marty, and Malcolm stopping by the barbershop to have some shop talk. After Que made a joke about Marty becoming a parent, the topic of Calvin becoming a new grandpa came up. According to the peanut gallery, he was an elderly man (LOL!)
Dave brought up his father, who had been unwell for the majority of Grover and Dave’s lives and would be thrilled to become a grandfather.
Recap
Lamar just bought a brand-new vehicle. Gemma inquired as to the legality of the payment (HAHA!) It was an old-fashioned car from 1980; the seatbelt was just a rope (lol!) and the odometer was taped over. That made Gemma think twice about her son riding shotgun in the vintage vehicle.
Calvin’s knee was hurting in the interim. When his wife asked him to see a doctor, he refused, and it grew to the size of a melon. He prescribed himself some Bengay and a snooze (HAHAHAHAHA!).
Tina put him to the test by asking if they would be able to attend the Earth, Wind & Fire performance that night. Calvin screamed in agony, making it obvious that he needed to visit a doctor.
Calvin’s newfound status as a grandfather becomes the subject of jokes during a barbershop visit with Dave, Marty, and Malcolm in “The Neighborhood” Season 6 Episode 4, “Welcome to Grandfatherhood,” which causes laughter and lighthearted taunting.
In the meantime, Kevin Pollak’s portrayal of Dave’s estranged father Lamar returns as a free man, willing to make up for lost time and reunite with his family, even though his strategies (such as driving a dubious vintage car) create suspicions.
However, despite his wife Tina’s worries, Calvin refuses to treat his terribly swollen knee, which creates humorous but insightful moments regarding his stubbornness. The episode highlights the difficulties and rewards of aging and family dynamics by fusing humor with touching moments.
