Things are getting heated up with the competition among the participants of The Masked Singer Australia, Channel Ten Australia’s regional variant of the popular contest show in which hidden celebrities from all walks of life sing and perform in elaborate costumes. It is up to the public and the judge’s panel to decide who makes it to the next round without the public guessing who they are.
This week’s episode was chock-full of Aussie pride, including a tear-jerking interpretation of the National Australian pride song on behalf of Bouncer and a duel between Tiny and Bluebottle.
All this and more, ahead with more updates concerning the next episode we will cover today as we make way slowly for the elimination stages.
By the next episode, we’ve been teased with an upcoming wild card and a brand new competitor, so big hype and surprises are coming.
Hosted by Osher Günsberg and with Mel B, Dave Hughes, Abbie Chatfield, and Chrissie Swan as judges, this wildly entertaining family musical talent competition show is one you don’t want to miss if you appreciate Aussie’s talent and pop culture.
The Masked Singer Australia Season 5 Episode 4 Recap
By Episode 5 of this season, we have Bouncer, Burger Gal, Cow Girl, Grim Reaper, Orca, Snow Fox, Space Fairy, The Captain, Tiny, and Bluebottle in the competition. The show starts as we’re all accustomed to, with a brief recap, fan shots, and clues about what’s ahead.
Now, for the nitty-gritty of it, we had performances by Snow Fox and Bouncer. Snow Fox sang Lizzo’s “To Be Loved,” and Bouncer sang “Your’e The Voice,” which rendered Bouncer a standing ovation because it is a very popular song and ranks Australia’s unofficial national anthem. For these two performances, those two were safe from elimination.
Tiny sang “God Only Knows” by the Beach Boys, and Bluebottle sang Blondie’s “Call Me,” and these two were sent to a duel, in which they had to sing Elvis Presley’s “A Little Less Conversation,” a duel from which Tiny came out on top.
When the reveal came, we discovered that Bluebottle was Shaynna Blaze, co-host of the show Selling Houses Australia, writer, and TV personality.
