As the Arrowverse series enters its two-part season finale, the teaser for The Flash Season 8 Episode 19 hints at the return of a big character. Season 8 of The Flash is coming to a close, with only two episodes remaining. Iris West Allen’s time-sickness is one of the remaining unanswered storylines in the series. Candice Patton’s character has been absent since the ending of season 8, episode 14 when Iris’ condition caused her to vanish once more. Iris has gone missing previously, but this is the longest time she’s gone Missing in action, which will be addressed in the next episodes of The Flash season 8.
Barry Allen worked primarily on training the series’ new speedster, Meena Dhawan, best known to the DC fan base as Fast Track, in episode 18, “The Man in the Yellow Tie.” Matt Letscher’s Reverse-Flash was also in the episode but his character had a personality change. Despite the fact that he is the original Thawne, this Eobard has no recollection of his time as an evil speedster or of his feud with The Flash. However, based on the closing of episode 18, circumstances for this Eobard may not be as pleasant for much longer.
Episode 18 Recap
Before diving into The Flash Season 8 Episode 19, let’s quickly do a recap of the previous Episode. In Episode 18, Team Flash was caught off guard when Meena Dhawan, one of the world’s greatest physicists, was introduced as a new speedster. Meena has seen temporary super-speed boosts as a result of her own research, and she seeks out Barry Allen as a tutor to help her put her abilities to good use. A familiar opponent reappears in Barry’s life with an interesting twist as Team Flash discovers more about Meena’s strange power source. Barry discovers the scientific oscillator that is responsible for Meena’s heightened speed when he visits her at Fast Track Labs.
Barry is taken aback when he learns that the machine was created by Eobard Thawne, who appears as he did prior to taking Harrison Wells’ physical attributes and suffered from amnesia during his years as a supervillain speedster. Barry pays a visit to the powerless, jailed Thawne in Lian Yu; he claims not to understand what Barry is talking about but recognizes the oscillator as a way to access the Negative Speed Force. Barry recognizes that the toxic nature of the Negative Speed Force will damage and finally kill Meena after surmising that the amnesiac Thawne is from a different timeline, and Barry then runs back to Central City to tell her.
Meena & the amnesiac Thawne adjust the oscillator to make her speed enhancement permanent, but when Thawne is interrupted by Barry suspecting him of lying about his amnesia, Meena uses the machine herself. Meena, who has been infected by the Negative Speed Force, sets out to keep her speed by devouring any power sources that come in her way. Barry finally admits that he is not the same guy as the wicked Reverse-Flash after speaking with Thawne, who exposes the amount of his love for Meena, and the two work together just to cleanse the Negative Speed Force out of Meena as she destroys a hydroelectric dam. Now we will discuss when will Episode 19 of The Flash Season 8 will release and what will happen in it.
