The Blood of Dawnwalker director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has explained why role-playing games (RPGs) remain his favorite genre, highlighting their ability to immerse players in another life. In an interview with GamesRadar published on October 29, Tomaszkiewicz said RPGs offer a level of immersion that allows players to experience adventures, overcome struggles and create memories through the characters they control.

He believes this emotional connection makes RPGs particularly special compared with other genres. Rather than simply playing through a series of challenges, players can step into the shoes of someone else and temporarily leave their everyday lives behind.

Tomaszkiewicz recalled a PlayStation advertisement built around the idea that gamers can live a thousand lives. He said the sentiment captures what makes role-playing games so meaningful to him, inspiring his desire to create experiences that players can remember and share with others.

Tomaszkiewicz’s passion for RPGs also shapes his approach to game development. He wants to create experiences that feel meaningful beyond the time players spend playing them, allowing their adventures to become lasting memories.

The director shared these thoughts in an interview with GamesRadar, published through Yahoo’s video platform on October 28.
