Nintendo Switch 2 players have received an early look at The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered gameplay ahead of its official release. Roughly 10 minutes of footage has surfaced online, reportedly after a physical copy reached a retailer ahead of schedule, offering a closer look at Bethesda’s acclaimed RPG running on Nintendo’s latest hardware.
The Switch 2 version is scheduled to launch on August 11, 2026, bringing the remastered 2006 RPG to Nintendo’s platform with its upgraded visuals, refined gameplay, and complete story content. Nintendo officially lists the game for Switch 2, with the release including the Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions.
The early gameplay provides a useful preview of what players can expect from the portable version. Oblivion Remastered targets 30 frames per second, with the game designed to run at up to 1080p when docked and 900p in handheld mode, while DLSS helps improve image quality. Nintendo and Bethesda have also confirmed support for multiple control options, including motion, touch, and mouse controls.
The remaster recreates Cyrodiil with substantially upgraded visuals while retaining the open-ended role-playing systems that defined the original. Players can pursue different character builds, explore Tamriel, complete faction quests and battle through the Oblivion realms while experiencing the game’s major expansions.
With its August 11 launch approaching, the newly surfaced footage gives Switch 2 owners their clearest preview yet of how Bethesda’s massive RPG translates to Nintendo hardware.
