Then we see that there is another storyline with a man who is called William Wheeler. This guy keeps saying that his spouse, aka Gretta, has actually murdered their daughter who is called Agnes. We then see how Apollo is desperately waiting for Gretta to come, and he finally figures out what has transpired.

The Changeling Episode 5 Recap
We enter episode 5 and are served with some flashbacks of Emma’s past. We learn that she’s in the rainforests of Brazilian lands all alone. Then we see how Emma is seeing a weird witch standing near a lagoon.
She is also talking to all the locals about it. Then we see how she is warning her about how the lagoon will be all spooky. But she is not at all listening but is granted three new wishes.
We also got to learn about her one-on-one interactions with an eerie photographer called Leif Knudsen. Later, they are seen exploring a very old and abandoned building. Then we see how Leif wants to take her pic sadly for which she declines.
So she decided to take one herself, and now this picture ends up in an art gallery. Then, we are again in the present. Here, we see how Apollo and William get awakened by Cal.
We also learn that William seems very different now. He is acting eerie apart from talking about Cal’s life. He is behaving as if he really knows all about her. He also thinks that Cal is named Pearl Walker.
It turns out that William has killed their daughter and not Gretta. Apollo is shocked by this very revelation. William also claims that Cal is actually a witch and a liar. We also see how Cal confirmed that Gretta is indeed coming to kill William.
We then see how Cal gives Apollo another chance. He frees him apart from showing him around the island community. Next, we see how she is giving him a childhood book that his dad had given him. Then, we see how Cal is talking to Apollo regarding Emma. He also tells how his spouse told Cal everything about him.
The next moments serve us with more flashbacks of Emma. We see her talking to her baby as she believes it is not her child. Then she contacts The Wise Mums for some assistance soon after getting multiple disappearing text messages.
We then see Cal offers to help her. But then, Emma gets a text message that calls Cal a superwitch. We then reach the island again and see how Apollo gets all baffled by Cal’s riddles. We see how she is saying that this island might be in a different world.
Later, Apollo is seen getting a tour of the school and dining area. Then Cal is seen revealing how Emma has restocked the library all by herself and taking a boat back and forth.
In many other flashbacks, we see how Emma’s condition is getting worse. She seems to be struggling when it comes to taking care of her baby. Again, we get to jump to today’s time when Cal is telling Apollo how he’s stuck in a very strange fairy tale.
He then regrets all of his actions, apart from missing Emma very deeply. He then wants to speak with Gretta. So when we see Gretta arriving, we get to learn how she reiterates that William has killed their daughter.

Apollo is seen as very angry about all the lies of William. Apollo is then seen going and talking to him on one in his very prison cell. He then gets to point out all of the lies William has told.
William is shown staying hidden in the dark. We learn how he says that his real name is not William. He also says that he had found a large group of people who really think like him. Then he realizes he has found his very true self.
Later, we see how William is coming out of the great shadows, and he is also looking crazy. He then says that Apollo actually knows his real name. So, in the finale scene, the fans got to witness a flashback, and here we are shown the very moment at which William saw Emma’s pic for the first time in the art gallery window.
