The Blood of Dawnwalker is preparing an update that will address one of its most frustrating enemy encounters: aggressive wild boars. Developer Rebel Wolves and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment have acknowledged player feedback about the animals, which can interrupt battles against human enemies and prove disproportionately troublesome during exploration.
The situation has drawn comparisons to Gothic 3, which became notorious among players for its famously dangerous boar encounters. In The Blood of Dawnwalker, players have similarly complained that boars attack relentlessly, knock characters down, and sometimes feel more threatening than the enemies they set out to fight.
According to the developers’ update announcement, patch 1.1 will make boars “less aggressive.” The studio has not detailed exactly how their behaviour or combat difficulty will change, but the adjustment suggests that feedback has prompted a balance pass.

The boar adjustment is part of a broader effort to improve The Blood of Dawnwalker. Update 1.1 is also expected to introduce a new, easier Story difficulty, while the existing Story setting will be renamed Forgiving.
The update will include more than 1,100 improvements and fixes, covering combat, traversal, camera controls, subtitles, and other gameplay systems. It will also add the ability to reset character abilities.
As of October 21, 2026, the update is planned for the week, although players should check the game’s official channels for its release status and complete patch notes.
