Black Adam Trailer Breakdown
The trailer lasts two minutes and eleven seconds. It begins with a ship flying through snowy mountains. We hear Doctor Fate asking Black Adam about his powers as he’s being strolled in restraints on a futuristic gurney into a facility. After that, he’s transported into a pod that fills up with liquid and puts a mask above his face.
The scene smash-cuts, and we see Black Adam dropping into a pit and Dwayne Johnson’s voiceover in character saying that Black Adam was a slave until he died and was reborn as a god. After that, we see how the excavators found Black Adam, and a surge of energy sends them flying away. There are some scenes of Black Adam with his sacrificed son. Now, Black Adam kneels before no one.
Present-Day Black Adam
After that, Black Adam moves into the present, jumping from a ship. We see Hawkman displaying his wings and Atom Smasher running amock. We also see Doctor Fate putting on a hat. In a series of fast-paced scenes, we see Black Adam laying waste to cities, and enemies and seeming unstoppable. Then he faces Hawkman, who confronts him, telling him that “heroes don’t kill people”, to which Black Adam menacingly faces up to him and says, “Well, I do.”
After that, we see several scenes of Black Adam in combat as Doctor Fate speaks in voiceover. He’s mighty strong, mighty fast, and seemingly unstoppable. Fate tells him that he can either be the destroyer of the world or its savior. Suddenly, Black Adam faces a van in the desert with two passengers. They raise their windows to avoid him, and from afar, some man with an RPG shoots it against Black Adam, but he stops it with his bare hands. We see him unscathed. Later, we see the title screen, and the trailer ends.
Production Details
This movie began its photography back in April 2021 in Atlanta under the supervision of Lawrence Sher —he did the cinematography for The Hungover movies. Because of the Covid pandemic, the movie’s production was halted and delayed for several weeks. After the lockdowns and restrictions, the cast and crew managed to conclude the photography for the movie on August 15, 2021. The film entered Post-production earlier in March this year, and the release date had to be adjusted because the special effects studio backloads was significant.
