The Amazing Race Season 35 is back on CBS, and for this season, thirteen teams are going to embark on a winner-takes-all contest as we’re used to seeing. Hosted by Phil Keoghan and kicking things off in Hollywood, California, this season of The Amazing Race promises more teams, more legs, more challenges, more surprises, and more locations.
As usual, we’re going from the United States, India, Slovenia, and many other countries from around the globe. Along the way, the teams will face all sorts of tests, challenges, traps, and tricks that will put their skills to the test: Both physically, and emotionally. Ahead of the season’s debut, we prepared a scoop for you so you’ll have all the basic information for when this program starts.
The Amazing Race Season 35 Preview
The Amazing Race is divided into multiple legs. Teams typically depart from the previous leg’s pit stop and proceed to a new location for each leg. This season, we start in Hollywood. In Hollywood, the teams will have to complete two or more tasks, frequently involving a roadblock and a detour, before receiving instructions to proceed to the next pit stop.
Every team aims to finish every leg as soon as possible because the last team to reach the pit stop usually loses to the other teams. This year, there are some surprises that make the race a lot more difficult.
Every cycle of the Race usually consists of eleven teams, each consisting of two individuals who are already in a relationship.
Every team starts each leg with a cash allowance and their first clue, which they have to use for all costs except airfare, which is paid for with a credit card provided by the production. Leg to leg, the amount of money differs. With the exception of some fines for placing last, teams are free to keep any money they don’t use for subsequent legs.
Teams typically receive a letter-sized tear-away envelope containing their next clue inside a vertical-fold folder when they start a leg, reach route markers, or finish tasks.
