The Afterparty Season 1: A Quick Recap
In the first season of The Afterparty, the murder mystery was encircled around the school reunion party where the prominent celebrity from the USA was found dead. The first episode of the show was released on 28th January 2022, titled “Aniq”. In this episode, the body of a pop star and an actor, Xavier, was found at the school reunion. As the first suspect was Aniq, the escape room designer, he decided to explain her connection with Xavier in the form of a romantic comedy in which he states about the love triangle that Xavier had with Zoe and Brett.

The story of Zoe’s husband, Brett, was depicted in the second episode. Brett goes on with his story in the action film style in which he confesses how much he cares about his family despite having divorced his wife, Zoe. Subsequently, the third episode revolved around Yasper, Xavier’s ex-bandmate, who tells the tale of him and Xavier in the form of a musical.
On the other hand, Aniq and Yasper find a note which is handwritten on the murder scene and try to discover if any one of the partygoer’s handwriting matches that particular note, but in the end, the detectives and the suspects get to know that one of the party attendees is missing. The fourth episode brings to you the psychological thriller, which tells the story of Chelsea, who had a romantic connection with Zoe’s husband, Brett.
Episode 5, which was released on 11th February 2022, revealed some more past grudges among the suspects and the victim. It is narrated by Walt in the teen drama style. The episode also introduces a new suspect in the crime, Zoe whose story is unraveled in episode 6 as an animation. In episode 7, the story of the detective of the crime, Danner, was portrayed in the form of a crime procedural drama in which she explained her high-profile case.
Aniq and Yasper, who have been secretly listening to the interrogation for a long time, join with Zoe, and three of them get to know that Detective Danner has finally found out who killed Xavier. However, she wants to reconfirm the same, and for that, she wants to have a chat with the innocent one present on the scene, Zoe, and Brett’s daughter, Maggie. Maggie reveals some extra secrets about each of the characters of The Afterparty in the Children’s Show style, which finally leads the detective toward the real killer.
