Supermarket Stakeout Concept
Supermarket Stakeout’ is based on a series of challenging events. In it, the chefs must think quickly and prepare dishes utilizing items from supermarket bags and carts.
Even if it’s just one apple, a loaf of bread, or a box of diapers, the ingredients will be a random assortment of food items. With the clock ticking, the cooks must still make a distinctive dish for the judges. The goal is to see if they can pull it off despite the fact that time and ingredients are against them.
Each episode will begin with a culinary trap outside a supermarket, in which the four competing chefs must approach random shoppers. They will have to leave the store and negotiate the bags straight out of their hands. They will be with no knowledge of what is inside.
The four chefs compete in a state-of-the-art pop-up kitchen outside a grocery store in each episode. Also, each participant is allocated a $500 budget to employ across three rounds. After that, the rotating panel of judges will decide which challenger has done the best with the dishes. At the end of the presentation, one chef will walk away with enough money to buy a year’s worth of supplies.

The grocery store “customers” are cast and arrive on set before filming begins for hair and makeup. Each cart of items is assembled by the production staff. And in each round, each customer lines up with their corresponding cart. Each customer/cart is given a specific time to come out and be approached by the contestants.”
When you think about it, it’s clear how well-planned the show is and how convenient it is that the “customers” always seem to have the right food for the contestant’s meal.
