Spider-Man: Across The Spider-verse continues to make waves even though its release is a year from now. While we wait for it to come around, the movie keeps the buzz in the air. This time Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse reveals the major villain who will be wreaking havoc in the coming sequel of Into The Spider-Verse.
After being announced as part of the 2022 Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-verse came to reveal Spot as the new major villain of the film. Sony Pictures later introduced the design of the character through another Twitter post.
In the picture, we can see Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy battling the interdimensional villain. Miles Morales tries to kick in one of the Spots on the villain’s body. The same spot sends his kick in Gwen’s direction, who ends up taking the hit.

Jason Schwartzman will be voicing the character of Spot. Originally, Spot was a formidable enemy of Spider-Man and Daredevil. Spot has the ability to create inter-dimensional portals, which he uses to travel long distances. These interdimensional portals appear all over his body.
Director Kemp Powers talked about The Spot calling him one of the deepest cuts in Spider-Man’s rogue gallery. Powers says Spot’s superpowers had the team really excited. Spot’s very simple power gave the team endless exciting challenges.
The scientist named Dr. Jonathan Ohnn originally appeared in Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #97. He later became Spot in issue #98. Apart from comics, Spot has also made appearances in the 1994 Spider-Man animated series and 2017 Marvel’s Spider-Man animated series.
Jason Schwartzman will be joining the likes of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, a.k.a. Spider-Woman, and Oscar Isaac as Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099.
At this point, there are no official details on how Spot appears and what his role as a villain in Spider-Man: Across The Spider-verse would be. But given the fact that it’s a multiverse happening, Spot’s interdimensional powers are something that aligns perfectly with the film.
