There’s almost always a way out of a situation for the doctors and staff at Skymed. Hayley seems to be struggling with a hidden addiction, Lexi doubts her choice to leave cargo for Medevac, and Crystal’s medical knowledge increases every day.
In the CBC medical drama Skymed, a group of doctors, nurses, and other medical experts attempt to rescue lives thousands of feet above the earth. The show’s plot is a little peculiar.
In addition to the exciting events that this air ambulance responds to, we get to see into the personal lives of the crew members as they struggle with their problems while trying to save the lives of others.
Season 2 of Skymed returns with a familiar ensemble, including Natasha Calis as Nurse Hayley, Praneet Akilla as Jay, Morgan Holmstrom as Crystal, and Aason Nadjiwan as Captain Austen Bodie.
Apart from that, Kheon Clarke, Mercedes Morris, and Thomas Elms reprise their roles as Tristan Green, Lexi, and Captain Milosz, respectively.
Recap
Lexi steps down from her position as captain of the cargo crew and takes up her former position as the captain of the medevacs. Due to a staffing shortfall, Nurse Hayley received an emergency notice from the Thompson Community Emergency Room informing her that all flight nurses would be working in the ER.
Hayley calls a doctor to offer therapy when a patient develops ascites. When Hayley’s phone picks up the “Cute weirdo” message, Crystal has no choice but to confront Hayley about being in a relationship. When Crystal gets her endocrinology results, she just turns to go.
The woman who is accompanying Crystal, Kyla, pulls a handgun on her without warning as she arrives to treat the patient with ascites. Despite Hayley’s request, Dr. Paul is dubious about the prescription after noticing that she is still taking Oxycodone six months after her surgery.
When Hayley tries to yell for assistance, Kyla unintentionally shoots Crytal in the chest while they are both being held at gunpoint. Matthew is one of Stef’s patients who has a unique pacemaker.
Kyla threatens to use Crystal’s organ in a liver transplant to cure her mother, intimidating Hayley as she attends to Crystal’s gunshot wound. Since Crystal was merely a medical student, she had no prior surgical experience.
Moreover, receiving a shot would also be ineffective. After the lockdown, Lexi is the only person still at the hospital. Therefore, it is her responsibility to tend to the child who is poisoned after ingesting their father’s medication.
Crystal and Hayley handled the process with skill. Dr. Yana calls Crystal after the procedure to let her know that her exciting study might be published soon. Because of the agony, Hayley seems to have become dependent on oxycodone pills, putting her life in jeopardy.
Hayley’s mother is missed. An exciting night out can have unforeseen consequences. After a risky call with a crippled patient, Stef feels forced to reveal the mystery that brought her to Thompson finally.
An ill patient hits close to home, leaving Crystal stunned. Hayley finds it hard to face the consequences of her actions when Wheezer discovers her secret.
Due to shortages, SkyMed flight nurses spend the night staffing the Thompson ER; however, a challenging patient causes chaos in the hospital.
While the SkyMed team members handle an investigation into a patient’s death, Hayley struggles to piece together her fragmented memories of what caused her relapse and whether or not she was accountable for the patient’s death.
