Rick and Morty Season 6: Recap and Review
As we have mentioned previously, Rick and Morty is one of the most popular and widely recognized animated sitcoms created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. As it is mainly targetted for the mature audience, the creators of the show have streamed it on the nighttime programming block, also known as Adult Swim, of the most popular kid’s channel, Cartoon Network.
The story of the show mainly follows a mad scientist named Rick Sanchez along with his favorite and fretful grandson, a young guy named Morty Smith. For me, season sixth of Rick and Morty is the year that the show went from a really buzzed-about one that I heard about online constantly to feeling kind of invisible.
Having said that, I also believe that that is not the case with everyone. In the world of the online landscape, everyone’s personalized interests and niches are carved up in a million different ways. And that is why some people have had a completely different experience, where they were just bombarded with Season Sixth posts.
One thing that is also harsh but true about this show is that it has been kind of declining ever since season three, when it reached its inescapable peak and all that annoying stuff happened. However, the sixth was the first time, at least for me, that it felt truly under-discussed.
Overall, I think that this is a pretty strong season for Rick and Morty. I also thought that it was more consistent than the last couple of years. However, I also think that there is something that is holding it back from really reaching the pinnacle of those early seasons.
Season Sixth represents the Third Batch in the massive 70-episode order that Adult Swim made back in 2018. Back in the early days of making Season Fourth, the show’s production was delayed time and time again because of the constant writing revision.
The constant writing helped the show in its early years, even though it made the fans more frustrated with the animators and the viewers. I also think that you can easily see that the show is adjusting to a new writing style with many new writers coming in.
In Season 6, though, I think the show seems to be working like a well-oiled machine. There were not huge delays, and there is a pretty consistent level of quality.
