Let’s know about Remnant 2 Ending Explained. The video game Remnant 2 continues the plot of Ward 13’s inhabitants some decades after the events of Remnant, which is the first in the series.
Even though the direct entrance to Earth was destroyed in the last game, this merely allowed the survivors time to be ready for the Root’s impending invasion as they tirelessly searched for a method to return to the planet.
Following one of two outsiders who are living in the hard terrain of Earth after it has been overtaken by whatever remains of the Root invasion, the story picks up a few decades after Remnant: From the Ashes concluded.
They are saved by Clementine, one of the remaining Dreamers who returned to safeguard Earth, and her buddy Bo after having a fatal encounter with the Root creatures while looking for the “fabled” Ward 13.
The only civilization of humanity to survive is Ward 13, where the foreigners are then brought. Here, the main character interacts with a variety of NPCs, including Founder Ford, who has aged since giving up his immortality.
He then guides the main character into Ward 13, where a fragment of the World Stone lays dormant. Ford entered a strange world after reawakening the stone.
Remnant 2 Ending Explained
The Keeper utilizes The Index once all of its fragments have been attained to launch a portal that leads straight to the place where the Root originated. In this battle against the Annihilation, which is essentially the Root hivemind manifest, the protagonist makes their last stand.
The Annihilation is already demonstrating signs of strength throughout the battle because they can now distort reality, spreading the conflict across multiple realms, one of which appears to be a simulation of reality.
Annihilation appears to be defeated, but then it begins to regenerate for another round. When Clementine and The Keeper meet up with the main character, they are similarly in a state of disbelief that Annihilation cannot be destroyed.
The only option left to them is to either let the Root consume everything that is currently known, or they can choose to start over and remove the taint of the Root by starting over.
Without going into specifics, Clementine considers another option before snatching The Index from The Keeper’s fingers and using it against herself. Everyone and everything is then transformed into what looks to be data or energy, which collects in Clementine’s body as a result.
As the credits roll, The Index is all that is left in the utter blackness of the emptiness after everything has been consumed. Until the end of the credits, The Index is visible in the frame. The Keeper is then shown approaching the artifact, indicating that he was not ingested into The Index as previously thought. In response to The Keeper turning its back, The Index flickers back and spits reality back into existence.
The protagonist is seen waking up again on a field of grass in the last scene. Given that Clementine first seemed opposed to the idea when The Keeper discussed the only two possible possibilities, her choice to reset her decision may initially seem contradictory.
To ensure that what happened wasn’t a total reboot, her behavior may be seen as a method for her to become a “bookmark” in the reality book. From the perspective of the player, this event is essentially a “re-roll” of the game, comparable to a “new game plus,” but players get to relive reality uniquely because the plot order, adversaries, and tasks will alter from the previous iteration.
The player’s progress is persistent, which is the only distinction. Until a game’s DLC is released and a different result is revealed, we can all put Clementine’s belief that this would work and her decision to do so in the category of wishful thinking.
We can only assume that Clementine is hoping that they will ultimately figure out a way to attain a different result through a new iteration. Additionally, it serves as a creative in-game method of demonstrating how the game loops and how characters are optional.
