The second episode of Reacher Season 3 focused on two important journeys. In the first part, Jack and Angel Doll drove to the impound lot.
Their goal was to take pictures of the pickup truck the kidnapper had used and get rid of the minivan Jack had used to save Richard. Jack had reunited Richard with his father, Zachary Beck, and needed to cover his tracks.
At the impound lot, Angel found the car Richard had been in. However, Duffy had switched its license plates, so Jack lied about it. He said the car was in a secure facility and not the one Angel had found. Angel eventually realized Jack was lying. Jack knew he had to eliminate him before he could reveal anything to Duke.
In the second part of the episode, Jack had to drive a Bizarre Bazaar truck from Maine to New London. His task was to deliver rugs, as Beck’s business focused on selling carpets. However, Jack suspected he was being used to transport something illegal. He asked Duffy’s narcotics contact, Grunert, to check the truck with his dog, Pfizer. They found only carpets inside.
During all this, Jack discovered that Beck was not in charge of the whole operation. He suspected a man named Quinn was the real mastermind. Jack also contacted his old friend, Neagley, and asked her to gather information on Paulie, Duke, and Angel Doll.
Would Jack uncover something important in Episode 3? Let’s find out.

Zachary and Duke Suspect Jack
Reacher Season 3, Episode 3 begins with Duke driving Jack from the Bizarre Bazaar warehouse to Beck’s mansion. While talking, Duke mentioned that Angel Doll had hinted at having important information. Jack realized Duke felt insecure about his position, which could become important later.
While interacting with the mansion’s cleaner and cook, Jack learned about a mechanic named Rusty. He had not met Rusty yet. He also found out that the cleaner was studying marine biology. She worked for Beck part-time because the salary helped her pay for her studies.
Their conversation ended when Duke interrupted and took Jack to meet Zachary. They had received a cryptic voice message from Angel Doll before Jack had killed him. Before dying, Angel had researched the pickup truck’s license plate and traced it back to a group that had done business with Zachary. However, the description of the kidnapper did not match anyone from that group.
Zachary and Duke suspected that either the truck was stolen or Jack was lying. Instead of choosing between those options, Jack created a new story. He claimed that the group was expanding, hiring new people, and had kidnapped Richard to challenge Beck’s business. Zachary and Duke believed Jack’s story, but Beck refused to share more details about his operations.
Later that night, Jack received a call from Neagley. She was worried after researching Paulie, Duke, and Angel Doll’s past. She offered to help Jack, but he refused. He wanted to handle Quinn by himself because he could not bear to lose another friend to Quinn’s violence. Jack promised to stay in touch but refused to share his location.
After ending the call, Jack contacted Duffy. He instructed her to leave clothes and a vehicle at a location south of Beck’s mansion. He needed them to break into the Bizarre Bazaar warehouse and take care of Angel Doll’s body.
Jack and Duffy Face a Dangerous Situation
Jack swam across a large body of water near Beck’s mansion to meet Duffy. She was waiting with his clothes and a vehicle. She seemed amused by his wet and disheveled appearance. While driving to the warehouse, Jack admitted that he still did not fully understand Beck’s operation or Quinn’s role in it.
He explained that Quinn had not only sold military intelligence to enemies but had also hurt his friend, Dominique Kohl. That was why Jack had tried to kill Quinn before and failed. This time, he intended to finish the job.
Before disposing of Angel Doll’s body, Duffy used his fingerprint to access his laptop. She reset the password so she could check it later. Jack and Duffy searched the warehouse for evidence against Beck but found only carpets, empty boxes, and large shipping containers.
They locked Angel Doll’s body inside a container and threw away the key. Jack took Angel Doll’s gun to use later. As they cleaned up the warehouse, two men from Bizarre Bazaar’s New London branch arrived. Jack and Duffy had no choice but to kill them and hide their bodies in a container next to Angel Doll’s.
Duffy then drove Jack back to their meeting spot. She promised to keep him updated on what she found in Angel Doll’s laptop. Jack swam back to Beck’s mansion without setting off any alarms.
The next morning, Zachary and Duke were upset. Two men—Ballinger and Squire—had gone missing. They were supposed to help with a major shipment. Jack pretended not to know anything and volunteered to take their place. Beck refused and instead assigned Jack to take Richard into town.
Richard Reveals a Shocking Truth
While in town, Richard revealed the name of the man truly in charge: Julius McCabe. However, when Jack asked about McCabe and Beck’s business, Richard hesitated. He insisted that they only sold rugs.
Jack realized he needed to be patient. He took Richard to a gift shop and bought him a cap gun for his father’s birthday. While there, Jack secretly called Duffy. He informed her about the incoming shipment and McCabe’s involvement. Duffy and her team planned to stake out the docks for more information.
Jack knew he needed to gain Beck’s trust faster. He decided to remove Duke from the equation. He told Duffy to send an email from Angel Doll’s account. The email contained the address of a remote DEA safehouse and falsely claimed that the group who kidnapped Richard had been seen there. Jack hoped Beck and Duke would go there so he could eliminate Duke.
Meanwhile, Richard left Jack’s side and was cornered by high school bullies. One of them was angry because his father had lost his job after Beck bought the quarry for his business. The bully felt that Richard lived an easy life while his family struggled.
Although the bully’s anger was understandable, he resorted to violence instead of words. Jack arrived in time and fought off the bullies. Richard started to trust Jack more. He opened up about his complicated feelings toward his father. He loved him but also wanted to escape his life.
Jack told Richard he could help him disappear if he shared useful information about Beck’s business. Richard admitted he knew little, but he revealed a dark secret. Years ago, McCabe had kidnapped him, cut off his ear to threaten Zachary, and then took over Bizarre Bazaar.
Zachary had originally sold carpets legitimately. However, McCabe used his connections to customs officials to smuggle illegal goods. McCabe kept Zachary and Richard under control by surrounding them with people like Duke and Paulie.
At the docks, Duffy and Guillermo took photos of Quinn. However, they did not recognize him and assumed he was McCabe.
Jack Eliminates Duke
At the end of the episode, Jack dropped off Richard at home and ran into Zachary and Duke. They were heading to the safehouse mentioned in the email. Jack rushed to grab Angel Doll’s gun, pretending he needed to use the bathroom.
During the drive, Jack noticed how Duke mistreated Zachary and Richard. Zachary remained silent, which convinced Jack that he would not mourn Duke’s death.
At the safehouse, Zachary waited near the car while Duke and Jack went inside. Once Duke turned his back, Jack aimed his gun at him and forced him to drop his weapon.
Jack asked Duke for information about Theresa, but Duke refused to answer. He was more afraid of McCabe than of Jack. When Duke started talking, Jack shot him in the head.
To make it look like a shootout, Jack fired both Duke’s gun and Angel Doll’s gun. He injured himself slightly and caused an explosion using a gas pipe and metal cans. Unlike typical action scenes, Jack realistically ran from the blast instead of walking away in slow motion.
Jack returned to Zachary and lied about what had happened. He claimed that Angel Doll, Ballinger, and Squire were involved in the kidnapping. He said they had killed Duke and thrown a grenade at him, but he had escaped just in time.
