The second season of the show will be based on the 11th Reacher book, Bad Luck and Trouble. He looks into the passing of his former army mates. Alan checked the season 2 source material before production began.
They’ll miss a lot of the novels, but that doesn’t mean they can’t read the books again later. One of Reacher World’s advantages is that it doesn’t depend on continuity. Reacher investigates killings involving soldiers in his squad who were paired with Frances in Bad Luck and Trouble. The fact that his former teammates seem to be being chased one after the other makes it personal for the entire team.

In the fifth episode of “Reacher” Season 2 on Prime Video, the members of the 110th uncover a much larger conspiracy against them, adding to the mystery. The others feel certain that Tony Swan played a role in Franz and the others’ deaths, but Reacher finds it difficult to accept that, and tensions start to rise.
He introduced Swan to the 110th; he knew him. He finds it incomprehensible that he miscalculated his character. But regardless of Reacher’s beliefs, all the evidence suggests that Swan is the traitor. Reacher and O’Donnell went to O’Donnell’s residence to remove his wife and kids from the house and into a secure place before departing for Washington, DC as scheduled.
They cannot take the chance of going farther into danger without making sure that their loved ones don’t end up as collateral damage, given all the attacks they have already managed to survive. Reacher also realizes, upon seeing O’Donnell at his house, how disconnected he has become from the people in his unit and whether he can truly claim to still know them.
Neagley and Dixon visit New Age Technologies in Denver in the meantime, and there they learn that the 650 missiles they had been wondering about for so long are the number of missiles that were delivered out of the company just minutes before Dixon and Neagley came to ask questions about them.
They learn that the truck has been taken over and that someone else fled with all of the missiles when they attempt to catch up with the shipment. However, that is hardly the worst scenario. Reacher and O’Donnell pay Joe’s Homeland Security contacts a visit in Washington, DC.
They learn that AM has been under their radar for some time. He is so skilled at hiding his identity that not even Homeland Security is aware of his true identity or appearance. He can pass for several different nationalities, making it tough to pin down his identity.
As a result, they address him using one of his aliases, although they are unsure if it is genuine. Reacher surprises Senator Malcolm Lavoy, a lawmaker whom aide Reacher and Co. confront head-on with Finlay’s assistance to determine the precise nature of Little Wing before they return to New York.
Though his motives are far from altruistic, Lavoy offers his assistance and resources on the case rather than threatening to stop Reacher’s research. The disturbance intensifies as two gunmen enter Franz’s funeral in New York. For Reacher, trust is an extravagance, and he is picky about whom he puts his trust in. Since he personally selected the members of 110th, all of them fit under such group.
This case holds a great deal of personal significance for him because he has become family with them after spending so much time with them, solving case after case. More than justice, retribution is what he seeks, and he is certain that he will have it, but whether Swan will be the victim worries him.

At last, Reacher accepts the possibility that Swan is aware of the New Age activities. A turn of events indicates that Reacher and the group were put behind schedule because of a deception. Reacher and Russo are still quite good at working together.
