Rayman Legends Retold has been named the Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game at Gamescom 2026, giving Ubisoft’s upcoming platformer an early win ahead of its October 1 launch. The official Gamescom awards confirmed that Rayman Legends: Retold secured the prize in the Nintendo Switch 2 category.
The game faced competition from Denshattack!, Mega Man: Dual Override, Nintendo Switch Sport Resort, and OPUS: Prism Peak. Gamescom states that the winners were selected through a combination of votes from an expert jury and the gaming community.
Following the announcement, the official Rayman team celebrated the win, saying,
“We are extremely proud to announce that Legends Retold has won the Gamescom Award of Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game.”

The team added,
“Thank you to everyone showing their love & passion for our limbless hero this week in Cologne.”
Rayman Legends Retold is a reimagining of the 2013 platformer featuring updated visuals, a retold story, new musical stages, and four-player couch co-op.
