Atlas, Omega, and P-studio went out of their traditional way to make Persona 5 Strikers the true successor of Persona 5 as much as possible. Released on 20th February 2020 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Windows, the game is made as a crossover deal between the Persona series and the Dynasty Warriors universe.
This is not your typical Persona game top to bottom, but it definitely has the essence of it, for the fans who loved its prequels will most likely enjoy this action RPG as well. Persona 5 strikers is a classic action JRPG that is a spin-off of the original game but still manages to satisfy the expectations of the fans of Persona 5.
The Game manages to go in-depth with the story smoothly and create many points of interest while falling off with the progression of the story in some places. So is the game worth spending time and money on? Let’s debunk it, and we will let you decide.
Is Persona 5 Strikers Worth It? Find Out
The story begins 6 months after the events of the original game. The phantom thieves are having a vacation across multiple cities in Japan one after the other. The group is spending their vacation, but it soon gets interrupted by multiple threats occurring in cities that is disturbing the peace that they established months ago.
You dive into the metaverse once again to restore peace to Japan. There are many side quests to keep the players engaged, but not as many to make it feel more lengthy gameplay-wise as other Persona games do.
The action sequences where you have to fight enemies are pretty chaotic, like a classic action JRPG, but you will have the option to play it in stealth, like sneaking up to enemies and surprise attacking them etc.. This is directly implemented in the game to satisfy the fans of the original Persona 5 game who enjoyed the stealth mechanic.
The fights can be a little too much for the eyes at times, unlike the original Persona 5 game. One more cool feature the game has is the “Third Eye” feature which will highlight objects and objectives in your surrounding whenever you use it. For those who are confused, think of it as Witcher Sense or Detective vision, which in my opinion, is a good quality-of-life feature that these games should have.
Persona 5 Strikers have a streamlined story but fail to go in-depth with certain characters at times and miss out on the opportunity for humor and wit. The main story will take almost 35 hours to finish, but if you want to complete the game a full 100%, it will take you nearly 70+ hours to do so.
The game feels long at times due to a lack of variety at times and engaging side quests, which are entertaining and refreshing. All in all, the game looks and feels fantastic with its art style, music, and graphics. The game managed to pull an 8/10 rating on IGN and 8/10 on GameSpot, with a staggering 94% user like on google.
Persona 5 Strikers: Conclusion And What We Think About It
The game is a direct continuation of Persona 5 and follows up on it pretty well but doesn’t explain anything for any new players. That’s why it is highly recommended that you play Persona 5 first before diving into this one. The game is available on all popular platforms for $60 and also available in physical copies if you want it.
The combat is in real-time action and always keeps the players interested with a unique play style for each character with different ultimates and moves. The ending of the game manages to conclude the game with the different characters coming to a satisfying finale which gives the characters their significant role in saving Japan and its people.
If you are into JPRG, this is worth buying and giving a go because, by the looks of it, P-Studio is not going to stop with Persona 5’s sequels and continue with the story in the future, and you wouldn’t want to look confused and out of place with the story when you play it.
