Crimson Desert has continued to expand since its launch, with Pearl Abyss now looking back at the major updates that have shaped the open-world action-adventure game.
In an official update highlights post published on August 12, the developer revealed that the game has received 17 patches, adding more than 20 new features and content additions alongside a substantial amount of customization and exploration-focused content.
The update overview provides a snapshot of how Crimson Desert has changed since its release. According to Pearl Abyss, players have received 120 new mounts and pets as well as 70 new outfits, equipment pieces and other items through the game’s post-launch updates. The studio said the changes were made while listening to player feedback and included new content, quality-of-life improvements, and technical refinements.
Crimson Desert’s Major Updates Since Launch
Several patches have introduced features that go beyond standard technical fixes. Earlier updates added new skills for playable characters, difficulty settings, inventory improvements, Boss Rematch, and Re-blockade activities, while later patches expanded the game’s mount and pet systems.

The game’s world has also gained more activities and customization options. Players can now use special mounts, care for fish in a pond, encounter a Baby Wyvern, participate in minigames such as pinball and orb roll, and expand their housing with new furniture and outdoor customization. Wyvern mounts were also introduced as another way to travel across the game’s world.
One of the more significant quality-of-life additions was cross-save support between PC and consoles, allowing players to carry their progress across supported platforms. The latest highlighted update, Version 1.16, also expanded Crimson Desert’s trading content, adding a deeper system for players interested in the game’s economic activities.
Pearl Abyss described the update history as a reflection of the community’s support, saying the 17 patches and their additions were
“made possible thanks to you, Greymanes.”
The studio also indicated that the infographic does not represent every change made to Crimson Desert, meaning the listed figures provide a snapshot rather than a complete record of every post-launch improvement.
