Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that Code Vein II: Mask of Idris, a major new expansion for the action RPG, will launch on September 9, 2026. The DLC will take players into the mysterious Forsaken World, an alternate realm shaped by the remnants of worlds that disappeared because of changes to history.

The expansion is available to purchase now and is also included with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Code Vein II. Developed by Bandai Namco Studios, the game is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC through Steam.

Mask of Idris will continue the story after the main campaign, introducing a new post-game adventure and a dangerous threat that could eventually affect the real world. However, players will need to complete specific requirements before they can begin the DLC.

Code Vein II: Mask of Idris Takes Players to the Forsaken World

The Forsaken World is described as a realm formed from the “converged passions of worlds that vanished due to historical alterations.” At the center of this alternate world stands a colossal, swirling spindle that continuously draws in emotions from different times and spaces.

This mysterious force now threatens to have consequences beyond the Forsaken World, setting the stage for a new conflict for the Revenant Hunter. Players will also encounter Liv Voda, an alluring guardian of time and space with a combative personality, as the new adventure unfolds.

Mask of Idris serves as post-game content, meaning players must first reach the “Luna Fraterna” ending of the main story. They must also complete the “Valentin’s request” sub-mission before the new campaign becomes available.

The expansion will arrive alongside Free Update Version 2.0, which will add new content allowing players to explore the post-main game world with their partners. Bandai Namco said further details about the free update and its additional content will be revealed later.

New DLC Builds on Code Vein II’s Action RPG Systems

Code Vein II combines fast-paced action with its distinctive combat systems, allowing players to use blood drained from enemies to unlock powerful abilities. Players can build their combat strategy around different Blood Codes while using weapons and specialized equipment known as Jails to overcome difficult enemies and bosses.

The sequel also introduces the new Partner System, allowing players to seamlessly switch between two combat forms and create a more dynamic action experience. Character customization remains a major part of the game, with options covering body type, hairstyles, facial expressions, accessories, makeup, and more.

Players can also visit hot springs to view their characters under different lighting conditions and use Photo Mode to capture their customized Revenant Hunter. With the arrival of Mask of Idris, that journey will soon expand into another world shaped by the consequences of altered history.
