Palworld TCG’s Rarest Cards Are Already Selling for Thousands as Scalpers Flood the Market, Led by a Nearly $4,000 Cattiva Gold Soul Sale

The Palworld Official Card Game has enjoyed a blockbuster launch, but its early success has also brought an issue familiar to trading card collectors.

Within days of the release of its debut expansion, Dawn of Palpagos, some of the game’s rarest cards have appeared on resale platforms for prices reaching $4,000, making it increasingly difficult for players and collectors to obtain them at retail.

According to the official Palworld Official Card Game website, the game surpassed 3.5 million booster packs sold worldwide around launch, highlighting strong demand for Pocketpair’s first tabletop adaptation.

Rare Palworld cards spark massive resale prices

The ultra-rare Cattiva Gold Soul card sold on eBay for nearly $4,000 3 days before the game officially launched. Other chase cards, including Chillet Dragon Whisperer, have also changed hands for more than $1,000, although completed sales suggest prices have already begun to decline as more products reach the market.

The rapid surge mirrors the early days of several modern trading card games, where first-edition cards often command significant premiums before supply stabilizes. Pocketpair and publisher Bushiroad launched the game on July 30 with the Dawn of Palpagos booster set and two starter decks featuring more than 50 Pals.

The situation has prompted comparisons with the Pokémon Trading Card Game, which has struggled with scalpers and product shortages in recent years. Local game stores have already reported selling out of Palworld TCG products despite the large number of booster packs distributed. The secondary market is being driven by both collectors chasing first-edition cards and resellers hoping to capitalize on launch-day hype.

Early card prices rarely remain stable. The Cattiva Gold Soul card, which reportedly dropped from an initial sale near $4,000 to listings closer to $1,000, illustrates how quickly values can fluctuate once more cards enter circulation.

While the long-term market remains uncertain, the game’s strong launch suggests genuine interest beyond speculation. Whether Palworld can avoid the prolonged supply issues experienced by Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, and One Piece Card Game will likely depend on future print runs and how effectively demand is met over the coming months.
