Palworld developer Pocketpair has revealed another major feature coming with the game’s long-awaited Version 1.0 update, confirming that the Wildlife Sanctuaries will receive a complete overhaul when the update launches on July 10.

The announcement, shared through the game’s official X account, offers players a first look at redesigned Sanctuaries featuring distinct ecosystems, exclusive resources, tougher encounters, and new security measures.

The teaser is the latest in a series of previews highlighting the scale of the 1.0 update, which Pocketpair has described as one of the game’s biggest milestones since its Early Access debut in January 2024.

Redesigned Wildlife Sanctuaries introduce new exploration challenges

According to Pocketpair, every Wildlife Sanctuary will now feature its own unique ecosystem rather than sharing a similar appearance. The preview showcases environments ranging from lush forests to rocky hot spring landscapes, giving each Sanctuary a distinct identity while expanding the variety of locations players can explore.

The developer also revealed that barriers and surveillance drones have been added throughout these areas, suggesting that reaching rare Pals may become more challenging than before. Alongside these environmental changes, players can expect to discover exclusive materials, encounter powerful boss enemies, and capture rare Pals that inhabit the redesigned regions.

In its announcement, Pocketpair summarized the update by stating:

“Wildlife Sanctuaries have changed, and each has their own unique ecosystem!”

The studio also teased that players will find “Unique landscapes with rare Pals, unique materials, and powerful bosses” waiting inside the new Sanctuaries.

Version 1.0 continues expanding the world of Palworld

The Sanctuary overhaul is just one part of the extensive Version 1.0 update arriving on July 10. Pocketpair has previously indicated that the patch includes enough changes to fill more than 27 pages of patch notes, highlighting the scope of the release.

Beyond the Sanctuary redesign, earlier previews have shown new story-focused missions, expanded settlements where humans and Pals coexist, and improvements to exploration across the Palpagos Islands.

Pocketpair has also confirmed that existing save data will remain compatible with Version 1.0, although the studio recommends starting a fresh save to experience the game’s progression from the beginning. Players can still transfer their favorite companions using the Global Palbox, making it easier to begin a new adventure without leaving valuable Pals behind.

Pocketpair has also teased that another showcase video detailing the full range of Version 1.0 additions will be released before launch. With just days remaining until July 10, the developer continues to build anticipation for what could become Palworld’s most transformative update yet.
