Only Friends Episode 8 Recap
April and Cheum worry about Mew’s increasing partying behaviors after he began getting close to Ray in Only Friends episode 8. Sand is unhappy that Ray has moved on with Mew and attempts to chat with Ray while he smokes outside. Ray is informed by Sand that they were never friends and that Ray would ultimately dump Mew the same way he did him.
Yo and her boyfriend Plug are fighting because Yo is worried about getting rejected again, and Plug wants to move in with her. Yo’s lack of faith in Plug angers him, and he ends their relationship. Mew approaches Ray for a cigarette when they are still in college, and Ray makes fun of him for starting to smoke.
When Top notices that they are smoking, he attempts to speak with Mew on his own, cautioning him that Ray is a terrible influence and shouldn’t expose him to harmful things.
Sand is being ghosted by Ray, who approaches him in the music room and inquires as to why. He also discusses with Sand his forthcoming social service hours and his drunk driving conviction. Sand declines Ray’s invitation to join him in performing music for children. Top laments to Cheum about Ray and Mew being together and expresses his desire to support Mew even if it means she doesn’t return to him.
When Nick goes for a job interview, Dan, a senior, is revealed to be the manager. They get along well and begin to make fun of one another for setting up Dan and gaining Nick the job. While Atom, Cheum’s younger brother, complains about his girlfriend being too possessive and stalker-like, Boston glances at Nick’s picture and drinks by himself.
Ray decides to hire a DJ despite Mew’s protests that he is bored and wants to have a party. As they celebrate Halloween, Ray praises Mew for choosing him. Ray gets yelled at by Cheum for being a selfish jerk who just became friends with them so he could date Mew.
Mew is taken home by Top, who also looks after him and cleans him up. They both nod off when he cuddles Mew. Ray is left alone on the hostel sofa by Boston in the meanwhile.
