Nintendo Download for October 23, 2026, Adds Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Final Fantasy Resonance, and More

Nintendo’s latest Nintendo Download brings a mix of major releases, upcoming games, seasonal promotions, and new music for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch owners. This week’s lineup includes FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE, Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, and the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23 for Nintendo Switch 2, alongside new activities and limited-time offers.

The update also highlights Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, which is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Meanwhile, players can prepare for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 release of Minecraft on October 27 and pre-order 007 First Light – Deluxe Edition, scheduled to launch on March 18.

Beyond games, Nintendo is celebrating Halloween with its Screaming Deals sale, adding music from Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 to the Nintendo Music app and offering My Nintendo sweepstakes prizes. Nintendo Switch 2 Gets Major Releases This Week

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23. Its campaign follows a young squad of South Korean soldiers fighting on collapsing front lines, alongside Captain Price pursuing a personal war. The game also features online multiplayer and DMZ extraction missions, where players must decide which objectives to pursue and when to escape. Digital pre-orders include early access to the campaign and DMZ.

Another major release is FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE, available on both Nintendo Switch systems. The game combines the franchise’s turn-based combat with HD-2D visuals, voiced characters, dramatic cutscenes, and exploration using chocobos and airships. Players can also recruit familiar characters, including Cloud, Terra, and Clive, as visions who join battles and unleash special moves.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition also arrives on Nintendo Switch 2. The adventure follows Lara Croft as she attempts to prevent a Maya apocalypse, exploring dangerous jungles and tombs while confronting Trinity. Players must use stealth and combat skills to stop the organization from obtaining the power of an ancient god.

Meanwhile, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Set on Wuhu Island, it features 12 sports, including Prop Plane, Skateboarding, Power Cruising, Boxing, Archery, Bowling, and Thumb Wrestling. Players can explore the island, discover hidden items, compete locally or online, and challenge Island Champions and Legends in the offline Island Crown mode.

Minecraft and 007 First Light Pre-Orders Open

Nintendo has opened pre-orders for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Minecraft, launching October 27. The version includes the Vibrant Visuals graphics upgrade and the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack, which adds a Mario-themed world, 15 music tracks, and 40 character skins. Players can also transfer save data from the original Nintendo Switch version and play with friends across supported platforms.

007 First Light – Deluxe Edition is also available to pre-order ahead of its March 18 launch. The game follows a young James Bond entering MI6’s Double 0 program after a heroic act. When a mission against a rogue agent ends in tragedy, Bond must work with his reluctant mentor, Greenway, to uncover a conspiracy and stop a coup.

Nintendo Switch 2’s new eShop additions include Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, I Am Your Beast, My Friendly Neighborhood, and ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet. Upcoming additions include ANOMALITH Anomaly Zone Countermeasures Office Database and Cities: Skylines – Expanded Edition on October 28, alongside Village in the Shade on October 27.

Nintendo Switch owners can also check out 9 R.I.P. sequel, arriving October 27, plus Ailuri, Fallen City Brawl, Cozy Packing, and Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest. Several titles, including SULFUR, ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet, and I Am Your Beast, are appearing on both systems.

Nintendo’s Screaming Deals sale offers discounts on selected digital games and downloadable content through October 31 at 11:59 p.m. PT. Players can also explore the company’s Halloween game recommendations and seasonal in-game events.

The Nintendo Music app has added the soundtrack for Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3. Fans can listen to tracks including “Kitchen Island,” “Syrup Castle,” and “Rice Beach.”
