VH1’s ultimate rap and comedy skit battle series, Wild ‘N’ Out, will return with two new episodes this week. Presented by Demon Slayer Manga: The Twelve Kizuki and Their Abilities Explained, the season’s premiere featured some of the most intense battles on the show, with both GloRilla and Justina Valentine giving the craziest of comebacks.
Airing on television since July 28th, 2005, Wild ‘N’ Out is a game show much similar to “Whose Line is It Anyway?” but with rap and all kinds of modern games added to make it more entertaining. The show used to air on MTV when it was originally released, but after season 13, it started airing its episodes on VH1.
The participating rappers, singers, and actors are divided into two groups and then made to compete with each other through a series of games. The show also has a special Wildstyle rap battle at the end, where each contestant roasts members of the opposite team, and the winners are the ones who manage to shade the other team successfully. The series has featured people like Lil Wayne, Kevin Hart, Kanye West, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, and many others.
One of the teams is led by Nick Cannon, while the other is led by whoever the celebrity guest of that night is. Despite featuring a point grading system, the points don’t matter, and it’s the level of entertainment that decides which team will win. By the end of each episode, the captain of the opposing team comes up with a musical performance.
Wild ‘N’ Out Season 19 Episodes 1,2: Recap
The 19th season of the game show series premiered on April 6th, 2023, with two episodes as usual. The format of each episode usually involves an introduction to the participating members of both teams. This season the teams were divided into “Old School” and “New School,” a type of division that has been done since season 15 of Wild ‘N’ Out.
Episode 1 featured the very popular Chance The Rapper and Shawty Shawty. The teams were tested through games like Got Damn, Remix, and the most entertaining “Wildstyle Battle.” With many hits to his name, Chance The Rapper chose to perform his song, “The Highs & The Lows,” to close the episode.
Episode 2 had GloRilla as the captain of the New School team. The Memphis-born rapper played games like Talking Spit, Twerk Werk, and many others with Nick’s Old School team as the opposition. The Wildstyle featured great comebacks from both teams, but it was GloRilla’s last verse that managed to grant the New School team the title of winner of the night. She later performed her most popular song yet, F.N.F., on the Wild ‘N’ Out stage.
