NewJeans’ fans have taken their discontent to the streets. On September 23, they organized a protest outside HYBE’s headquarters, displaying trucks and funeral wreaths.
This demonstration follows the deadline set by NewJeans for HYBE. They demand the reinstatement of ADOR to its previous state under former CEO Min Hee Jin.
The fan coalition expressed outrage over HYBE’s perceived negligence. They criticized Chairman Bang Si Hyuk for not addressing the situation as the deadline approached.
The fans noted that NewJeans members previously voiced their desire for harmony with HYBE. They seek a resolution without further conflict, emphasizing their loyalty to the group.
On August 27, ADOR’s board dismissed Min Hee Jin from her position. They cited “the principle of separating management and production,” leading to controversy among fans.
Although ADOR claimed Min would still oversee production, she rejected this arrangement. Fans were left dissatisfied, demanding Min’s full reinstatement and support for NewJeans.
On September 11, NewJeans held a live broadcast. The five members clearly stated their wish for ADOR to return to its original form.
They specifically requested Min Hee Jin to regain her roles as CEO and producer. This demand culminated in a deadline set for September 25.
In response, fans organized a three-day protest from September 23 to 25. The protest featured trucks and wreaths in front of HYBE’s building in Yongsan, Seoul.
Messages on the wreaths criticized HYBE’s handling of the situation. Phrases like “NewJeans, irreplaceable” and “Give us back CEO Min Hee Jin” were prominently displayed.
The protest underscores the strong bond between NewJeans and their fanbase. Supporters are determined to make their voices heard, advocating for their idols’ needs.
As fans gather to express their frustrations, the atmosphere remains charged with passion. They are united in their call for change, hoping to influence HYBE’s decisions.
The ongoing situation highlights the growing expectations fans have for their idols’ management. Many are demanding transparency and accountability from entertainment companies.
With the protest continuing, it will be interesting to see HYBE’s response. Fans remain hopeful that their actions will lead to a favourable resolution for NewJeans and ADOR.
