A soon-to-be-released three-part documentary that will give us a look into the sheer difficulty with which recruits have to train to pave their way in the Navajo Police Training Academy is about to be out on HBO.
Navajo Police: Class 57 will follow a group of recruits and witness them train over the course of an entire year as they learn to fight for themselves in the academy and the real world waiting for them just outside the gates of the training center.
The rookie group will learn how to pave their way and deal with the drastic increase in crime rates along with hundreds of years of neglect and ignorance forced upon them and their community.
Directed by Kahlil Hudson, Alex Jablonski, and David Nordstrom, the series aims to provide its audience with an informative and immersive view of the Navajo Police Department, along with the hopes of spreading awareness and educating the people on the modern life on the reservation.
Though we are sure this docu-series will be exciting for fans and a great opportunity for people to talk more about the tribal community and how it has suffered at the hands of some egotistical people of the land, the producers of the documentary have not made public information about the series.
Navajo Police: Class 57 Episode 1: Preview
We will follow a year-long process that the recruits of the Navajo Police Academy will have to go through at the training center. The community has faced years of disrespect and ignorance, and this continues to affect them and their position in the field.
These recruits will have to put up a good fight against the system and the real world to get the place they deserve. They will have to fight back against the increasing crime if they wish to keep their community held together.
With a lot at stake, not just for the recruits but also for the community, they will have to do better despite the high pressure if the Navajo Nation is to flourish and survive. Their survival depends on the success of this training academy, and this documentary will take us through the process of it all.
The description of the first part of the docu-series reveals more information about the Navajo Nation, explaining that with a population of 190,000 people, the Navajo Police Department is the first and only tribal law enforcement agency with its police training academy that has a total of one hundred and eighty officers operating currently.
Realizing that the number of officers does not look all that good and that they are facing trouble in keeping the increasing crime rate in check, the Navajo Police Department has finally brought in a total of twenty-eight more police officers.
All new to the job, these recruits will be put through a twenty-eight-week training period, which will be rigorous and hard, but the increasing pressures and the lack of manual help need dealing with immediately.
This documentary will be a journey of these twenty-eight recruits who will have victory waiting for them on the opposite side if they manage to push through and survive.
