Mortal Shell II is rapidly approaching a major sales milestone, with 814,000 copies sold across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, according to the latest estimates from Alinea Analytics. The figure puts the Cold Symmetry-developed soulslike within striking distance of 1 million copies, while estimated revenue across the three platforms has reached approximately $37 million.
The latest numbers represent a substantial increase from Alinea’s earlier estimate of 510,000 sold-through copies shortly after launch. At that stage, Steam accounted for 57.6% of sales, PS5 represented 33.8%, and Xbox made up the remaining 8.6%.
Mortal Shell II Builds Momentum Across PC and Consoles
Mortal Shell II launched on August 20, 2026, following an advance-access period for players who purchased the Devout Edition. The game is available on Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, expanding considerably on the original Mortal Shell with an interconnected open world, unrestricted combat, eight playable Shells, and extensive weapon upgrades.
The game’s commercial performance is particularly notable for a relatively small development team. Its early momentum was preceded by strong interest in the open beta, which Cold Symmetry said attracted 1 million players across Steam, PS5, and Xbox before release.

The physical PS5 edition also generated significant demand before launch. In July, Cold Symmetry and Playstack said demand for the physical release had “exceeded expectations,” resulting in supply constraints for the PS5 Revered Edition.
Mortal Shell II has also established a solid reception on Steam. The game’s store page currently lists thousands of user reviews and a “Very Positive” overall rating, while its official description emphasizes its faster combat, free exploration, and possession-based Shell system.
With 814,000 estimated sales and $37 million in estimated revenue, Mortal Shell II now has a clear path toward the 1 million mark. The figures are Alinea Analytics estimates rather than officially reported sales or revenue from Playstack or Cold Symmetry, so the final totals could differ as additional data becomes available.
