While all other couples were busy getting married after meeting at the aisle, Michael’s story took an unexpected turn when his wife left him at the altar. The experts have brought in another match for Shiakallis, and looks like this time might just be the charm.
Lifetime’s Married At First Sight is a relationship reality series where experts match a group of singles together and get them to marry on the first day of their meeting. These men and women witness their partners only on the day of the marriage and almost immediately tie the knot without knowing much about them.
The rest of the weeks are spent trying to develop a close connection with their spouse by going through the various tasks assigned by the experts.
This season brought in a ton of interesting couples like Emily & Brennan, Clare & Cameron, Becca & Austin, and Orion & Lauren. Orion and Lauren eventually broke up, leaving only 4 couples on MAFS US season 17.
Recap
Emily and Brennan get a bit further into their relationship, but Emily can’t stand the way Brennan keeps repeating things at times. Clare and Cameron’s surprising divorce reveal leaves many of the other couples shocked and heartbroken. Becca and Austin’s marriage gets more fun each day, and seeing Becca be so good with children makes Austin feel he made the right choice.
Cameron talks about his new heart condition and that it could probably related to the stress he got from separation from Clare on MAFS. Clare and Cameron start living separately, but Clare feels lonely not having him around. The experts force the couples to talk about their differences so that they would be clearer about the decision they’d make on Decision Day.
Emily hates the way Brennan doesn’t text her or want to be with her and feels as though he’s purposely trying to find the one thing that would break this marriage.
Becca shows Austin her photography studio and believes this could help them get to know each other better. Austin surprises Becca with his great photography skills, and the couple has a good time together at the studio. Dr. Pia checks in with Clare and Cameron to make sure they want to separate and have no options left.
Clare breaks down thinking about how she could have been responsible for his heart concerns. The experts group up to match another single woman with Michael. This time, they do anything they can to check their compatibility beforehand so that no one is left heartbroken in the end.
This MAFS episode had most of the couples, like Becca and Austin or Emily and Brennan, talking to experts so that they could decide if they were going to work things out or not.
