A fresh rumor surrounding Nintendo’s live-action The Legend of Zelda movie has revealed what could be one of the film’s biggest casting announcements yet. According to multiple reports, Uli Latukefu is expected to portray Ganondorf, though Nintendo has not officially confirmed the role.
The casting information was first shared by Kyle Buchanan, whose previous film industry reports have proven reliable. According to Buchanan, Australian actor Uli Latukefu, known for portraying a young Dwayne Johnson in Young Rock and appearing in Netflix’s Marco Polo, has been cast as Ganondorf.
The report was later followed by Deadline, which claimed that Sam Neill, Dichen Lachman, and Yvonne Strahovski have also joined the film’s cast. Deadline noted that Lachman is reportedly playing Impa, while Strahovski is believed to portray a queen.
Although none of these roles have been officially confirmed, the reports add to the growing excitement surrounding the adaptation.
Nintendo has already announced that Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link, while Bo Bragason has been cast as Princess Zelda. The live-action film is being produced by Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad, with Wes Ball directing the project.
The movie is currently scheduled to premiere on April 30, 2027. Until Nintendo confirms the latest casting rumors, fans should treat the reported additions as speculation, despite the strong track record of the outlets involved.
