Love Lies Bleeding, Kristen Stewart’s latest thriller, opens as her second-highest-rated film on Rotten Tomatoes. This action-crime movie from A24, directed by Rose Glass, is set in the 1980s and centers on Stewart’s character, a gym assistant who develops feelings for a bisexual bodybuilder.
The two soon learn how fiercely competitive the bodybuilding scene is. The film, which stars Stewart alongside Katy O’Brian, Jena Malone, Anna Baryshnikov, and Dave Franco, opens in theaters on March 8.
As the film’s theatrical release date approaches, a plethora of Love Lies Bleeding reviews have surfaced, and as of this writing, the film’s Rotten Tomatoes score is 91% based on 56 reviews.
Kristen Stewart has been one of Hollywood’s most well-known and gifted actors for a long time. Stewart rose to fame for her role as Bella Swan in the Twilight Saga movie series.
She went on to star in a number of other successful films and won numerous awards over her career. Even though Love Lies Bleeding is now getting fantastic reviews, it’s important to remember that Stewart has already starred in a number of other highly regarded films.
The gifted actor starred in Kelly Reichardt’s poignant film Certain Women in 2016. The film received positive reviews from critics and now has a 92% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2021, Stewart’s portrayal of Pablo Larraín’s Spencer won her a lot of praise, and the film currently has an 83% Rotten Tomatoes rating.
Over the years, Stewart has acted in some fantastic films, but she has also appeared in a couple that have received mixed reviews.
For instance, Stewart plays the lead in Benedict Andrews’ political thriller Seberg, which has a dismal 35% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and mediocre reviews.
The same cannot be said for Anesthesia (2015), which scored an even lower 27%. But with Love Lies Bleeding about to premiere in a few days, fans of Stewart’s filmography should soon get the opportunity to see one of her best films on screen.
