The narrative of this thriller Turkish Drama Kızıl Goncalar revolves around the tragic life of Meryem, who was always suppressed by a religious sect in her life. She was married at the age of 14, forcibly following the ritual of her family’s religious belief. It was the beginning of her miserable life.
She was practically raised by her in-laws, who had different ideologies on women’s lives, and thus her house became her prison. On the other hand, he husband was a complete failure too. However, after the birth of her daughter, she started living her life dedicated to her daughter Zeynep.
When Zeynep reaches the age of 14, to avoid her daughter getting the same fate as her, she embarks on a journey to run away from the family with her daughter. Being in a very strict family, for Meryem, running was the only option left but she needed money for it.
With the aid of her sister-in-law, Meryem managed to get a job caregiving in the home of popular psychiatric Levent, who was a secular person.
Both have different ideologies on life thanks to their upbringing. Meryem asks Levent to help her with the religious disparities she is facing and reluctantly Levent accepts so.
