The success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has cemented its place as one of 2026’s most acclaimed RPGs, but one of its lead actors says that critical praise and millions of players haven’t resulted in more work elsewhere in the gaming industry.
Luke Dale, who portrays Lord Hans Capon in both Kingdom Come: Deliverance games, recently reflected on his career during an appearance on the Firezide Chat podcast. While he praised developer Warhorse Studios for supporting him throughout the series, he admitted he has been disappointed by the industry’s response to his performances.
Luke Dale says acclaimed performances didn’t open new doors
Speaking on Firezide Chat, Dale revealed that he expected the popularity of Kingdom Come: Deliverance to create more acting opportunities.
“I wish I could say that Kingdom Come 2, the work I’ve done and the fact it’s been played by millions of people led to more work, but it didn’t.”
He added that he never assumed success was guaranteed, but admitted the industry’s reaction has been discouraging.
“I always hedge my bets because I don’t think the industry has been particularly kind to me. Warhorse have been absolute gems. They’re so supportive and really believed in me the whole way through. But the industry at large has never really given a f***.”
According to IMDb , Dale has appeared in only a handful of video game projects outside the Kingdom Come franchise, including voice work in Battlefield V and TaVRn’s Takedown – Naheulbeuk.

Streaming became an unexpected second career
Rather than waiting for new acting roles, Dale decided to embrace content creation on Twitch, where he has built a community of more than 70,000 followers.
Explaining the decision, he said he wanted to create something sustainable instead of relying solely on voice acting opportunities.
“If more acting work comes from this, great, but I’m not going to rely on that. I know people want me to stream, and I can build a community here if I choose to and work really hard.”
He believes many actors miss valuable opportunities by not engaging with the communities built around the games they appear in.
“Don’t just let it pass you by, because it could be the best thing you ever did. It certainly was for me. It changed my life completely.”
Developed by Warhorse Studios, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has received widespread praise for its storytelling, historical authenticity, and character performances. Dale’s portrayal of Hans Capon, alongside Tom McKay’s performance as Henry of Skalitz, has been widely recognized as one of the sequel’s highlights.
Although Dale hopes more acting opportunities eventually arrive, his comments suggest he has found stability by connecting directly with fans through streaming—a path that many voice actors in the gaming industry are increasingly exploring.
