Reports suggesting the incident caused a flight delay were clarified, with the delay attributed to issues with the plane’s air conditioning, not Tyson’s health condition.
The incident occurred shortly before Tyson’s scheduled return to the ring for a match against Jake Paul on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Texas.
The fight will be an official bout with eight rounds lasting two minutes each, using slightly larger gloves than usual.
The upcoming match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is notable given Paul’s background as a social media influencer-turned-boxer, often facing athletes perceived as past their prime, including UFC fighters.
Despite the 31-year age gap between Tyson, who will be nearly 58 at the time of the match, and Paul, it will count on Tyson’s professional record, which stands at 50-6.
