John J. Sakmar and Kerry Lenhart’s production titled Kingdom Business is an intense musical drama that aired first in the summer of 2022. Through its dramatic story revolving around gospel Queen Denita Jordan, the show gives fans a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the gospel music industry itself.
Early this year, the second season of the show was announced, which finally aired recently, and we are here to tell you all you need to know about it. One reason why the show is such a treat for the eyes is its talented cast, which includes Yolanda Adams in the lead role of Denita Jordan and Serayah in the role of Rebecca Belle, better known as Rbel, once again in the leading role.
Apart from these two, the show also has Michael Jai White, Michael Beach, Chaundre A. Hall-Broomfield, Kiandra Richardson, Dominique Johnson, Tamar Braxton, and many more, who add immensely to the show. The character of Denita is introduced as a gospel superstar dominating the gospel music industry.
She is also the owner of the Kingdom Records label and holds the position of the First Lady of the First Kingdom Church. She is influential in her way and has worked hard to be where she stands. But it was not just hard work that got her there; she had her secrets, ones she wished to keep away and protect at all costs.
It is while she finds herself guarding her family, her position, and enjoying her high status that things change with the entry of a fresh, young face in the industry, one that could challenge her voice and possibly snatch her position.
Rbel is a rising star in the gospel music industry, and while she worked as a dancer before, her talent as a natural-born singer far beats her dance skills. Ready to take over the industry and challenge Denita, the show explores their stories and Denita’s hidden secrets.
The Plot
The last episode, titled Bed of Lies, had Denita try to put an end to the lawsuit by personally contacting Caesar and using her influence to get him to drop the suit. While Taj’s marriage with Essence comes to an end, he does end up making a difficult decision for the sake of his family.
Among all of this, Dani’s death still has Rbel in limbo, and she finally confronts Dex about her best friend’s murder. Season 2 continues with the power struggle between Denita and Rbel. In the upcoming episode, we are expecting to see Rbel finally get her big break in the industry, which we hope will give her the kickstart she so desperately needs.
The episode will also finally address the Caesar Jones v. First Kingdom legal conflict, with the judge announcing the final verdict on the case. Taj Jordan, played by Chaundre A. Hall-Broomfield, was supposed to get married in the episode as well, but certain secrets might come in the way of it all.
Make sure to read to the end if you wish to find out more about the upcoming episode and where you can watch it.
