Gqeberha is a South African telenovela focusing on Luzuko Mxenge, a wealthy businessman, and his polygamous relationship with three wives. Luzuko has everything from money to fame to glory, so what more does he want?

Luzuko is married to Bulelwa Mxenge, his first wife; Zimkhitha Mxenge, his second wife; and Nozuko Mxenge, his third wife. Now, Luzoko wants a fourth wife, Anathi, who is also his eldest son’s love interest.

Luzoko loves his eldest son Thulani, the most out of all his children, so when his son decides to betray him for Anathi, Luzoko decides to punish them both. The series focuses on the development of the relationship between Luzoko and his son.

Luzoko’s three wives are polar apart from each other and often become competitive for his love. Anathi’s entry into Luzoko’s life leaves his other wives feeling jealous and incompetent.

Anathi’s and Thulani’s relationship took a turn for the first time in episode 10 after Thulami saved Anathi’s life. The episode was a roller coaster ride, and things were made official between the couple in episode 15.

Thulani was completely head over heels for Anathi, but things changed for the couple after Anathi decided to marry Thulani’s father. Even though Thulani confessed his love for Anathi, he failed to win her over as she had already made the decision to marry Luzoko.

Meanwhile, Thulani decides to marry Nontle, a woman his mother forced upon him, after discovering that Anathi was pregnant with his child. Thulani promises his mother of love, Nontle, even though his heart continues to crave Anathi’s love.

Nontle and Thulani tie the knot in a beautiful ceremony and are off for their honeymoon. Meanwhile, Anathi is unsatisfied with her marriage and decides to move on. After a while, Anathi had a change of heart and decided to continue with her marriage.

The news about Litha Ngcukana, responsible for playing the role of Thulani in Gqeberha: The Empire, after the episode showing him being a part of a boat explosion with Anathi. As of the current track, Thulani will continue to be part of the series. Thus, Litha Ngcukana isn’t walking out of the series.

At the moment, it is not confirmed if Liath will be walking out of the series. Lukozo is angry after learning about Anathi’s and his son’s betrayal of him. After Lozoko learns about his son’s fling with Anathi, he decides to take revenge from them for fooling him.

The discovery is made after Lozoko realizes Anathi is two months pregnant while the pair were married for one month. Lozoko plans an elaborate way to end Anathi and Thulani together.

Anathi and Thulani become a part of the boat explosion planned by Luzoko. This led to the viewers wondering if the couple survived or if it was the end for Thulani.

Bulewa isn’t ready to accept that her son, Thulani is dead; thus, she chooses not to attend his funeral. Bulewa prays for a miracle to occur. The recent teaser of the series has indicated that the couple survived the boat explosion.

The couple will move to East London together after their survival. The couple is also expected to contact Thulani’s mother for help as she is the only one on their side.
