When it comes to HBO Max’s new dating show, Swiping America is far more like a documentary. Isn’t it? The show can technically be addressed as “rom-doc”, which stands for the romantic documentary. It makes sense.
Swiping America turned out to be unique and different from every other dating show. Also, the way that each of the creators was introduced to the show involved creative detail. Fans noticed this and loved it, too, wondering if it’s scripted.
It seems like Yes! We mean, Swiping America appears to be real enough. As of now, we don’t find anything that can prove the above saying or call it scripted. Each of the cast members has different characters, which look very colorful in the premiere of the dating show.
Swiping America comprises four cast members- Ashleigh Warren, Krishnanand Kelkar, Kesun Lee, and Reagan Baker, respectively. Each of them hails from New York City and is, most importantly, looking for love. If we talk about the premiere of the show, Reagan Baker seemed the most vocal and genuine about her love life. During an interview, she shared that the only reason why she participated in Swiping America and not any other show was because of its authenticity. On this note, she said, “They sounded very smart.”
Concerning the reality of Swiping America, it has no trash, catfighting, or doesn’t involve getting drunk and being abusive to others. The show doesn’t support these actions, which makes it quite real and way more interesting. The concept is undoubtedly unique. It’s all about finding partners.
As mentioned earlier about the show’s inclusiveness, Stephen Warren shared that Swiping America is not biased toward any particular sexuality. The dating show is not judgemental, as the creators believe “love is love.” People fall in love in different ways. Some are in love at first sight, while some are after knowing the other person. But, it has nothing to do with making judgments about sexuality, especially for the queer community. That’s the originality of the show Swiping America. What do you think?
Swiping America isn’t a “competition show,” as shared by Johnnie Ingram. Concerning the cast and their sexuality, each of them is different. To be more exact- Ashleigh is a lesbian entrepreneur, Krishnanand is a gay data scientist, Kesun is a real estate agent, and Reagan Baker is a hairstylist. So, the different dimensions make Swiping America more genuine, interesting, and real than any other dating show.
