Broadcasting Controversy Between SBS And MBC Concerning Im Soo Hyang’s Upcoming Dramas
SBS’s planned to air Im Soo Hyang’s Upcoming k-drama Starting Today, in May 2022. Meanwhile, it was already decided by MBC to air the actress’s new k-drama Doctor Lawyer in the same month. Therefore, MBC And SBS have been in a dispute over this issue for over a week. However, On April 12th, it was announced by SBS that the show Starting Today, We, will premiere as planned before. Though it was not intentional, SBS had no other go but to shift the slot to KST’s Monday-Tuesday slot, because of clashes with SBS’s other two dramas. The k-drama will air on May 9th, 2022 at 10 pm. And, Doctor Lawyer will air on Friday-Saturday from April 27 at 6:30 pm.
Meanwhile, MBC argued that when the two shows are on air at the same period, it will cause damage to both the shows as viewers might confuse between the two roles of Im Soo Hwang and they cannot fully get immersed into the role that the actress is playing in the k-dramas. Thank goodness, the issue is now sorted out. A representative from SBS said that the air time of the two shows are different and the days in the week in which the shows will be aired are also different. Plus, the storyline and the subject matter of both the dramas are completely different. So there won’t be any issues concerning the two shows.
