Tencent Video’s newest series, Sweet Games, is a classic mushy romance that’s sure to make you fall in love with its stunning cast and interesting storyline. The Chinese drama starring Winwin and He Hong Shan premiered in August of 2023.
The storyline revolves around the cute pair of An Ran and Yan Yue, who end up becoming involved in each other’s lives coincidentally. An Ran used to be very popular in high school, but after that ended, life hasn’t been as easy for her at all.
She spends all of her days trying to get ahold of a good investor who would be willing to invest in her dating game. An Ran resorts to bluffing but still fails to make a living out of being an entrepreneur.
Yan Yue, who used to be An Ran’s junior, now works as a voice artist on a radio platform. His mom rents out their neighboring apartment to An Ran, and he has no choice but to be her new landlord. When Yan Yue finds out that An Ran is the one renting out the house, things are bound to get entertaining as Yan Yue used to have a huge crush on An Ran when they were in High school.
Sweet Games: About The Show
Sweet Games’ crew consists of NCT’s Winwin in the role of Yan Yue, He Hong Shan plays An Ran, Andrew Leng stars as Hu Ying Jun, and Tan Xiao plays Bai Meng Yao. Other cast members of Sweet Games include Jin Zi Xuan and Chen Kang. Winwin (Dong Si Cheng) has previously been a part of dramas like The Summer Talk, The Shadow, and various other Chinese & Korean TV shows.
As for He Hong Shan, she has been in the Chinese television industry since 2014 and has worked in well-known dramas like Demon Girl, The Evolution of Our Love, and The Sword and the Brocade. Both Winwin and He Hong Shan have good chemistry at Sweet Games, even though they play the role of senior and junior.
The series begins with An Ran talking to multiple investors, only to be denied by every one of them. She rents out an apartment to afford a better life, but what she doesn’t know is that the apartment is owned by Yan Yue, a junior of hers from High school that used to have a crush on her.
After attending an Alumni meeting, An Ran ends up pretending Yan Yue is her boyfriend to make a deal with a hugely successful investor.
The plan sadly doesn’t work out well for An Ran, and now she’s stuck with an embarrassing memory and owes Yan Yue both rent and other expenses. Soon enough, An Ran and Yan Yue start working on a project together by coincidence and have no choice but to get along well.
