Fox brought a new reality show with a new format, Snake Oil, where entrepreneurs pitch their products, and the contestants must examine their authenticity. Shark Tank fans can relate to the concept because they even wonder whether the products pitched by the entrepreneurs are genuine or scams.
An Emmy and Golden Globe Award-nominated comedian, David Spade, serves as the host and producer for the show. He debuted in Saturday Night Live with his fellow comedian, Dennis Miller, in 1990 and left the show in 1996. However, he returned for one episode each in 1998 and 2005.
The term, ‘Snake Oil,’ refers to a scam, deceptive marketing, or fraud. Similarly, one who promotes fraudulent products or solutions is termed a ‘Snake Oil Salesman.’ Talking about the upcoming show, the contestants must find the entrepreneurs selling fake products.

Snake Oil Preview
Entrepreneurs will approach the contestants in Snake Oil with their bizarre and unique products. Contestants must examine those products through visuals, infomercials made only for the show, and interrogating the business representatives. Meanwhile, the contestants will be assisted by celebrity advisors before they arrive at a conclusion.
Accordingly, the contestants must point to genuine and fake products to win a huge cash prize. Emmy nominee Will Arnett executive produced the show under Electric Avenue Productions.
The second executive producer is Marc Forman, an actor known for Cursed Friends (2022), Twisted Metal (2023), and Love Song & Power (2024).
The third executive producer is Neal Konstantin, an executive producer based in Los Angeles known for Monopoly Millionaires’ Club (2015), Match Game (2016), and Nashville Squares (2019). He also serves as the showrunner for Snake Oil.
According to Spades, he was flattered after getting an offer for their show by FOX. However, he was worried about getting remembered for the term ‘Snake Oil.’ The show is helpful in today’s world, where people spend more time online shopping and purchasing random products.
According to the trailer, the contestants will come across a pet product, which is revealed to be fake by the host, David Spade. Similarly, they will be approached by the entrepreneurs selling a bizarre bathtub, a deer bag made through taxidermy, and more. The contestants must decide whether it is real or snake oil.
Rob Riggle, a retired US Marine officer, actor, and standup comedian, will appear in the first episode as a celebrity guest. He is known for 21 Jump Street (2012), Dumb and Dumber To (2014), The War With Grandpa (2020), and more.
Another celebrity guest in the first episode is Michelle Williams, an American singer and actress. She appeared in Raven’s Home (2018) (as a guest), The Masked Singer US, UK, and Australia, Wrath: A Seven Deadly Sins Story (2022), and more.
Other celebrity advisors in further episodes are Natasha Leggero, Brad Paisley, Bethenny Frankel, JB Smoove, Adam Devine, Dwight Howard, Jay Pharoah, and Darius Rucker. Spade’s cheeky comedy, Will Arnett’s intelligence, and bizarre and unique products will contribute a lot to the entertainment in the show.
