Sascha Penn’s crime drama series titled Power Book III: Raising Kanan aired first in 2021, and is about to release another season soon. The show is a spinoff version of the original series called, Power, and it continues as a prequel to the original story of the characters.
The show will bring back to us our cast, including Mekai Curtis, Patina Miller, Antonio Ortiz, London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Hailey Kilgore, Omar Epps, Shanley Caswell, and many others, along with some new faces like Wendell Pierce and Erika Woods.
If you have been following the previous seasons of the show then you would know that the show is set in the 1990s when Kanan Stark gets into the drug game for good and finds himself exploring a new world of glamour and dirt. Finally, out of his mother’s wing, Raq, who had been ruling Queens with her Marvin and Lou Lou, her brother, Kanan finds himself stuck in harsh battles, forced to protect his turf and family.
That a third season would be released was announced even before the finale of the second season had ended, and finally, the launch date of the first episode of the new season has been announced. It has been a rough journey for young Kanan, and fans have watched him learn and grow from a clueless boy to a ruthless man who knows his business.
The Plot
We witnessed the Thomas family take a lot of heat in the last season and the finale left them struggling to keep their empire standing. So, as they recover from the attacks, the new season will also have Raq, Lou Lou, and Marvin face another mob attack, one they might end up struggling from for a long time.
Kanan will continue on his path, trying to free himself from the shackles of his family, especially his mother, Raq. In hopes of expanding his business with his unique ideas and his own effort, Kanan is hell-bent on finding a space for himself.
Fans will also be put face to face with Raq’s shocking announcement which will leave a mark on the story, that is for sure. The new season is all set to take forward the story arcs of the different characters. The producers of the show have not revealed what exactly fans can expect from the show, which we believe has only added to fans’ excitement.
